Has the forum been hacked ?

Spits dummy and flounces off stage left! :D :D At least the mods/Charley are listening to people and making some changes (font colour already changed).

Triton MOF 001 height adjustment advice in table mode.

Pleased to hear it! Poor assumption on my part seeing the 'from and to' dates on his website. He has always been incredibly helpful.

    Double glazing supplier required

I wouldn't replace the whole frame just because of 'steamed' up units! All it means is the seals on the glazing units have failed, - replacement is relatively straightforward, we had quite a few of the old ones replaced in our last place. A decent local supplier will be able to sort it out. Ask...

Triton MOF 001 height adjustment advice in table mode.

Some likes to Ray Girlings (Argee) document. Unfortunately I think he passed away last year. http://www.raygirling.com/dismtra1.htm http://www.raygirling.com/dismmof1.htm Hope these are of some use, - they may be for older models though? Last time I did it I found a strip down, clean and lube...

Triton MOF 001 height adjustment advice in table mode.

I have a similar problem and to be honest I’ve just learned to cope with it. In any case I always lock the adjuster before a cut and always have. By holding the coarse adjustment knob you can flick the locking lever off and gently tweak the height. Not as good as the fine adjuster but adequate...

I wonder if the mods are running a book on who does the most whinging about the change? :D :D I think it's wonderful 8)

Dust protection when using Abranet handpiece.

It's easy to fall into all sorts of traps with this type of question without knowing exactly what's actually being done and for how long (20 minutes sanding skirting or all day just sanding 'stuff'?). Sorry Droogs, I don't agree with the comment about PL insurance and particulate filter at all...

    Airless paint sprayer problem

Whereas the roller (cling filmed between coats) goes straight in the bin! Be interesting to hear the highs and lows from Roger as a novice sprayer to see how he progresses.

    Airless paint sprayer problem

It'll be interesting to hear how you get on Roger. On the face of it it certainly looks quicker but then people who know what they're doing always have that effect! Any chance you can keep an eye on how much time it takes for masking, cleanup etc? It might then give an indication of the overall...

    Working with wenge

I agree completely with Custard. Don't use masses of the stuff and mainly for inlay and edging and apart from the fact that it seems to splinter easily (like some oak) I find it finishes nicely with sharp blades. Never noticed anything like abnormal wear on tools etc.

    Gluing Cross Grain

From my experience the one thing you can guarantee is that wood will move and if you don't plan/allow for that movement you will find yourself having to carry out repairs and/or modifications. You might have got away with it but wouldn't even try. Interesting to see Mr Sellers apparently fully...

    Currys/PCworld

I take a very similar approach and have almost been thrown out of Screwfix of all places for having an argument about their need for my email address to complete a sale (cash, - £3 on screws). All sorts of reasons proffered none were valid. I tend to avoid them now if I can (Toolstation round...

    Kitchen worktops

I’ve fitted a few sets of solid oak worktop and never used a jig. Butt joins are fine, never had an issue with them. Use a few biscuits for lining up and pva and you’re done! Might save you a bit of worktop?

    Amazing product

Surely it would be much quicker if he used a roller?

    Project Burnout

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt! I know what you mean about 90% of the effort. Things seem to take forever, - even worse if your anything of a perfectionist and worse still if you're a perfectionist without the necessary skills! Keep at it you know it'll look good in the end!

    Electronic mouse repellents

We have/had mice in the roof space and I wanted to get rid of them so purchased a few traps and in talking to the sales staff decided to buy a small ‘repeller’. When I was baiting and placing the traps for reasons best known to myself I put one right next to the repeller. This was the first...

How to fix a leaking waste outlet

And I said ‘whatever type’ (and I know there are many). Regardless of the type used over time it loses adhesion and ends up leaking, particularly on screw threads I’ve found. Still, you use your stuff and I’ll use mine and we’ll both be happy!

How to fix a leaking waste outlet

And another for plumbers mait. I find that silicon (whatever type) doesn't stay waterproof whereas plumbers mait seems to last forever!

Notes on Tyler Hardwoods @ Shalbourne, Marlborough

I used Tylers a couple of years ago for some quarter sawn oak (about £200 worth). I had already spoken on the phone to a very helpful man (turned out to be the boss!) and when I got there they were incredibly helpful. Selection from a giant stack of boards and then initial machining for me at a...
