    free loans to british gas

Jim, - have you tried their formal complaints process? It is a bit of a PITA but often results in a higher level sort out and a £30 credit to your account.

Extraction for Dewalt DW 733 planer - is my festool ok?

I'm perfectly aware of the difference between the two. I've highlighted to the OP a cost and space effective solution that works given his outlined intended usage.

Extraction for Dewalt DW 733 planer - is my festool ok?

No Mike they’re not just vacuum cleaners, far from it. They also filter down to 0.3 micron which is reasonably respectable.

Extraction for Dewalt DW 733 planer - is my festool ok?

If space is tight and you don't do masses of thicknessing in one go and/or you don't mind more frequent emptying then one of these will do the job: https://www.dm-tools.co.uk/product.php/ ... Aewumj7Q2w It's what I use from my thicknesser (different colour/badge) and it does a decent job. I've...

    Hall Table

John, - I think that looks pretty good. Is that the ‘front’ view? If so what’s the side profile? Same again or flat? As has been said knock one up from some cheap timber and see what it looks like.

Axminster CT330 planer + shelix head

Oh goody I thought. Always fancied one of those. Then I saw the price!  Wonder if it's possible to get a new block and fit it to an old machine?

    Remote controlled chip extractor

I used a remote control socket and bypassed the NVR and it worked fine. Trouble is I can't remember exactly what I did although it can't have been difficult if I did it! My NVR had two pairs of coloured wires and I think it was just a case of connecting one set of these together hence bypassing...

Joining solid oak worktops breadboard style.

Firstly, - if it's against your better judgement then why? If you prefer laminate then surely go for that? I've fitted a few oak worktops (purely DIY not a fitter) and have always sourced them from worktop express. Never had an problem with quality but I understand they have very good customer...

Looks like Axminster have a new budget table saw

Shame you can't buy one until January! Supplier related issue I believe. I'm very interested in one but as far as I'm aware they're not even in the shop to have a play with yet.

    Sorting an uneven concrete floor

Paul, I've only ever used 'bog standard' (i.e. cheap!) compound but I have played with the consistency to try and stop if flowing too far. There are some designed for deeper (up to 50 mm) use but I've no idea what that's like. I think if you use smaller quantities and trowel and/or straight...
