    Sky + Maintenance

Anyone ever had a problem with their box? I have had mine for over 7 years and not a problem with it at all. Save your money would be my recommendation - a new box is in the region of £100 I believe so if it lasts more than a year you are in profit anyway. Steve.

    9/11 predicted?

Agree with Smudger, as conspiracy theories go this has to be one of the weaker ones  Steve.

    Freedom of speech?

I think the problem is that he had no evidence to back up his claims, just a poster inciting hatred. It was a deliberately provocative act rather than an attempt at a reasoned debate or dialogue on the merits or otherwise of scientology. Not defending scientology in anyway here, although all I...

    Spare a tear.

Read it and seen the film, but as usual it has had its ending changed by Hollywood and not for the better. Stick to the book. There was a rumour it was changed becuase not enough Americans knew about the holocaust and Auschwitz to make sense of the books ending but I don't know if thats just...

    50 Free Plans (Until July 11, 2008)

Great links, I was looking for some bookcase plans to show SWMBO so very helpful! Just right click and save target as for the plans, no info need be supplied. I usually find using [email protected] gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, although I suspect this may also go into the ether rather...

Radio 1 big weekend in my town

Is that not still younger than Madonna though?! Steve.

    Lifes work.

Like Tony I am neither strongly for nor against the royal family. To a large extent they are irrelevant to my life to be honest. I dont have to swear alligence to them, I am never likely to meet them and they certainly have never heard of me. On balance I guess I am not in favour of hereditary...

    Good news for woodworkers

I would say doubtful if the injury has scarred over - you would need to remove the scar tissue and promote the wound effect ie cut the top of your finger off again. Very interesting report though, wonder if they have trialed it on more serious wounds to see how far the regeneration effect goes...

7 year old with only 2 months to live

I do not wish to denigrate the cause in any way here, the aims of the fundraising are sound and I am sure any parent would try and do the same if it was a child of theirs. My concern is with the treatment proposed. Firstly, it is not a cure. In fact I cannot find out exactly what the treatment...

    Bear Grylls v Ray Mears!

It would seem from my reading however that 21st SAS are not supposed to be part time 22nd SAS - they have different roles and functions. 21st is primarily a deep recon unit, not a fighting force. http://www.eliteukforces.info/special-air-service/sas-reserves/ One can never be sure what is...

    Floorboard/builder experience request.

220 litres of water is 220kg. Equivalent to 3-4 people (or two of me ahem), do you think your floor could not hold that amount of weight? Steve.

    Pollen

Apologies, tnimble, I was being too literal. The second two conditions you describe are not an allergy to gluten in the biological sense, which is what I was describing as coeliac disease. I spent 5 years researching the genetics of the condition in a former job. Steve.
  14. S

    Pollen

erm, gluten intolerance is exactly what coeliac disease is. If you are allergic to gluten then you have coeliac disease. The only cure is exclusion of gluten from the diet - hence your prescriptive diet as a child. The 'disease' comes as a broad spectrum condition and can often be misdiagnosed...

    Think you're a fighter pilot !! try this !!

Hmm, 12 seconds is my best after about 5 minutes. The blue blocks follow a set pattern though, so I reckon it is possible to 'learn' to improve ones score. Definately not fighter pilot material though! Steve.

Kity 419 table saw dust extraction

Nope, still happy with mine. Only gripe (apart from the extraction) is that the sliding table is a bugger to lock at a set position. Have to keep checking and rechecking and adjusting. I could always make a sliding table to run in the mitre slot though. Certainly no plans to change mine any time...

Help- Kity 419 or Record TS200C. Which is best?

I have the kity 419, bought second hand off ebay after seeing it at a show. Main advantage is the CI table, nice to have extra width with the extension tables (steel) and the sliding table is good once you set it to be at right angles with the blade. As mentioned dust extraction is crap -...

    Axminster and Timber

Thanks Richard, although my e-mail enquiry to Axminster was specifically about planks rather than turning blanks. Postage on timber costs a small fortune so if I could get some in person from Axminster's Kent store I would be a happy man! Steve.

    Axminster and Timber

I notice in the Kent store that Axminster have been holding a supply of turning blanks for a while now. Being an inquisitive sort I mailed them and asked if they would be stocking planks at any time - as a wood machining company it would make sense to go the whole hog and supply timber as well...

    I`m Back!!!

Pretty sure thats 3 years old and 10 months old, not 3 months old and 10 months old :D Steve.
