Nah - tis my playstation! Daft thing is we are constantly aware of the Wii controller and making the kids strap it onto their wrist when they play - never thought about the PS controller being a missle  Its not even as if they play it much as most of the games are not 4 yr old friendly...

So I am now the proud owner (in name at least) of a rusty saw with a bit of worktop as an extension table :D Avid readers of my Rutlands rant thread will have noticed I was down for a SIP 01332 that never arrived. I was willing to hang on, hang on and hang on for it and (current delivery...

Work, Life, Woodworking and Ultra-running balance

Indeed, I am totally in awe of anyone who can do this. Interested to know whether you were already a runner or went at it from scratch as it were - I can barely manage 5k on a treadmill so even a marathon is a distant dream, let along 250km. Hats off to you =D> =D> =D> Steve

    My First Shed

Nice job! For the next one, you might want to look at felt shingles from Wickes or similar. They are strips of shingles that are a) easier to manage and b) look good because you can hide the nails under the next row. Might require a bit of jigging round the angles to prevent rain seepage in the...

    Kity 419 (For Sale)

There have been a few recently, tending to go for around the 300-350 mark complete with side tables and sliding attachment. Doubt this one will be much different to be honest. Steve

    Help with jewellery box mishap...

They are big though - not sure I would want to put a No. 8 screw into a jewellery box hinge  Unless you are building one to hold the crown jewels obviously ;) Steve

ebay sniping tools - advice please

I know it happens, but its still annoying when it does as if he but it up as a 'Buy It Now' and given everyone else the same chance to buy it immediately for whatever price he was happy to sell it at outside of e-bay, I could have decided there and then whether it was worth it ratherthan hanging...

ebay sniping tools - advice please

Anyone recommend one of these? Searching the forums shows www.justsnipe.com as being mentioned a couple of times. Might just be me but I am wary about sticking my ebay username and password into this which looks a less than professional website :? Clearly if one is to use these tools one...

    Last Desperate Cry for Help!!!!!!!

Its not the saw that is at fault, it sounds like the blade clamps. I do not have a SIP so cannot offer specific advice, but I would try and source some alternative clamps (do the hegner ones fit, or try Axminster for clamps that fit their saws) and see if you can get something that works for...

FOR SALE - workshop shut down many machines to go!

Got you, found the difference between the Silver and Gold on the Laguna website. The dovetail mechanism adds an extra 30kg to the overall weight of the saw and it is going to be an absolute pig to take apart and get into my cellar. I would still love this saw, but think head has to rule heart...

FOR SALE - workshop shut down many machines to go!

Thanks Rob. From the reading I have done it would appear to be about 250kg. Now this is overall weight. the SIP 01332 is around 160kg and similr saws about the same so the T30 does appear to be far heavier than the rest. I know the SIP is shipped in two boxes and the table comes separate from...

FOR SALE - workshop shut down many machines to go!

Thanks for the info and pics. anyone able to advise whether the cabinet and saw break down to fit in an estate car / MPV? Other reason for that question is that my workshop is in a cellar and I would need to get it down a flight of stairs - which if it doesn't break down significantly is going...

    screwfix

I was under the impression B&Q and screwfix had the same owners as well. Having driven B&Q into the ground and stopped doing anytnig other than DIY level stuff (no spax screws anymore) they now appear to be running screwfix into the ground as well. I have taken to using a local supplier for most...
