Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

The Rockwell sound roofing is that the 600 wide lot? Do you just trim the extra off and put it in another? Or do they do a 400 wide?

Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

They are not long walls. Typically 1400mm long one is maybe 1500. They are 3m high. I am looking at 75x45mm now and seems a decent size but may go up to the 4x2 CLS I know they are only 89x38 but I think that would be enough.

Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

Looked at prices and for 75mm x 47mm carcussing timber 3m length it works out about £1 more expensive per length and the is C24 graded as well. So I think I will go with that. With sound insulation do you just put in 50mm thickness. as the density of the material is what limits the sound so...

Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

Hmm I was going to use CLS as it seems that is what is available everywhere. I will give a couple of local timber yards a call and see what they are have. I thought CLS was the norm now. Cheers Mark

Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

Had a dig about on my councils website and found a pdf that had some info https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6NQZpUoehq6Vkl2QWM2amJOSGM/view?usp=drivesdk Basically I think 3x2 are fine as long as 450 centers but I will go 400 as insulation etc is easier at the size. I was originally going for...

Extension starting soon and I have a question about stud wal

Hi All, Starting our house extension soon and although builders are coming in to build it to water tight I will be doing everything else. I was looking through our drawings and noticed a note that stud walls are to be 4x2 with 400 centres with 12.5mm plasterboard. However, I was going to use...

removing a bolt that holds a saw blade on (stripped head)

Hey all, So, I cut a slot in the bolt with a dremel. However I did not have a wide enough flat head screw drive so I just put the flat head screw driver in one of the groves and hit it with the hammer. However, it just will not budge at all. I have some bolt extractor bits coming so I am hoping...

removing a bolt that holds a saw blade on (stripped head)

Only offline as I'm heading home from work. If I look at the there is an arrow on the case that shows the blade spins anti clockwise also on another forum someone confirmed it is LH thread. Cheers Mark

removing a bolt that holds a saw blade on (stripped head)

Hi Distinterior, The blade spins in a counter clockwise direction and I assume it spins in the direction the bolt tightens to avoid it becoming loose over time. That would be a LH threaded bolt wouldn't it? Cheers Mark
