How would you wall mount this?

Thanks Bristol_Rob. I'm now thinking some brackets like these combined with the baton scholar suggested.

How would you wall mount this?

Thanks scholar, I like this idea a lot. I'm now wondering if I could make something useful of the baton underneath, perhaps turn it into somewhere to hang some items from.

How would you wall mount this?

Thanks paulrbarnard. How would that work? Peanuts on the wall, and corresponding holes on the box?

How would you wall mount this?

Yeah I would be nervous trying to route out the 9mm thickness.

How would you wall mount this?

Ha! OK, I actually thought it was a good idea; I've used the command strips before and they were pretty good. Yeah brackets like that could work well, I'll see what I can find in brass.

How would you wall mount this?

Thanks ChaiLatte. Keyhole hangers would be elegant, but so far I can only find them about 16mm wide. Velcro is also a great idea, would be simple and quite possibly strong enough.

How would you wall mount this?

Thanks Etaf. I haven't tried french cleats before but have been wanting to for a while, this could be a good opportunity. I wondered if a cleat in the top left and right sections, glued on three sides to the top and vertical pieces would be strong enough?

How would you wall mount this?

Hi all, I've made two of these trinket boxes for the kids, but I'm not sure how best to wall mount them. It was my first go at dadoes and the slotted inner sections and some of the joints aren't the tightest fit, so the glue joints may not be as strong as they could have been. I'm reluctant...

Experience with Festool Domino Connector System

Same here, the connectors went together fine, but the dominos were very tight and had to be sanded quite a lot to allow easy enough assembly/disassembly. Otherwise the connectors have so far worked well. I used one in each corner.

Is the Metabo HC260 any good? Currently dimensioning with bandsaw and handplanes.

Hi stuart, I used his approach with measuring the height (by seeing how much a straight edge is moved by the blade as it rotates), which is all good. I had trouble securing the blade at that height. The Metabo has a different locking bar to the Electra that he uses, it lacks the locating lugs...

Axminster AC153E / AW153E Dust Exractor, a couple of questions

I have this extractor with the cartridge filter and use it with a Metabo HC260. Extraction is good enough with only minimal chips making it onto the floor, although the inlet clogs fairly easily and you can tell because the Metabo is quickly covered in chips! I didn't think this one actually...

Is the Metabo HC260 any good? Currently dimensioning with bandsaw and handplanes.

I got one new a few months ago from FFX on ebay. They have 15% off right now (and ends tomorrow), and I think it's the cheapest you can find it. It is my first planer thicknesser, and despite a few niggles, it has transformed my enjoyment of making things. Without hand tools I was limited to...

Spray kit recommendations ( walls and cabinets )

Ah, understood. I've got the G-Xpc gravity fed gun which doesn't have a filter.

    domino xl connectors

You can get the components separately, but I haven't found them in smaller sets than this which is still way more than you need. At the current price of £14k for the systainer on that site, I would say the separates are a good deal! I'm guessing that most people that use a DF700 and connectors...

Painting and sealing pine & Plywood bed

Thanks for the suggestion rogxwhit. Two coats of Zinsser 123 followed by Rust-oleum satin furniture paint worked really well, all sprayed. The Rust-oleum was the perfect viscosity for spraying without thinning. There was some learning with spraying a satin as I had to get a nice even wet coat...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

The first of two beds for the kids, their first full-size beds. Mostly pine, sprayed with Rust-oleum furniture paint. Oak tops to the head and foot board. Domino XL connectors used for knockdown fixings. Slats from Ikea.

Luckily I read this just before placing a fairly big order (for me at least), thank you!

Painting and sealing pine & Plywood bed

I may have worded that poorly, apologies tyreman. I wondered if you could recommend any brands/lines of polyurethane?

Painting and sealing pine & Plywood bed

Thanks Jacob. I've been pleased with Zinsser's Bulls Eye 123 so far. Would pretty much any decent brand paint be ok?
