    Hardwood

Hi, I'm new to bandsaws and thought I would try my hand at making a bandsaw box after being pointed in the right direction by the good souls on the forum-thanks. Just one little problem where am I likely to pick up some suitable bits of timber? If anyone knows anywhere in South Lincolnshire...

    Give some ideas

Being in my mid eighties and having just got my new BS300E bandsaw I'm keen to get going. As a hobby I've always done woodwork and I remember over seventy years ago going to woodwork lessons at school and still remember the basic rules Mr. Woodrow taught us (that really was is name). He was real...

    How long?

Got my new Record BS 300E bandsaw built up out of the box and spent time getting it square and after making a few rip and cross cuts it does appear to be very accurate. I had removed the blade that came with it and fitted a Tuff Saw one which had been recommended I should do on the forum, and...

    Are they the same?

Come across an advert for a ITECH BS300 bandsaw from Scott and Sargeant which looks suspiciously like the Record BS300, are they one and the same? Also it seems they are about £200 cheaper!

    Record BS300 Bandsaw Help!!!

Had my new Record BS300 delivered today all packed well with no damage, I managed to get the stand built this afternoon and planed to to put the saw on it tomorrow. I'm here on my own with just the old Dutch so there's absolutely no way I'm going to able to lift the saw onto the stand! But...

    Give me some ideas please

Hi Alex, That would be brilliant mate, unfortunately we live in lincolnshire but what a great idea about the boxes! I've often heard them spoke of but have no idea how to go about it, perhaps I might be able to find something on line. I did order the wheel set with the saw but although the saw...

    Give me some ideas please

I'm just getting back into woodworking purely as a hobby after many years doing my other hobby which was shooting (pre charged air rifles) and which I've now sold. With the proceeds I've bought myself a new Record BS 300 bandsaw. I'm a young lad coming 85 in a few weeks but still very active...

    Power Tool Suppliers

Hi, Thanks for the response mate, appreciate that. You see the pedal mover already fitted to the legs in their advert, so from what you say, it comes as a seperate item doe's it? Just one other thing, would it be possible for you to tell me what the working heigth of the table is from the floor...

    Power Tool Suppliers

Hi, I'm looking to get the Record BS300 bandsaw and been looking for the best price. Most seem to be selling at £749 including carriage. There's a company called Data Power Tools who are selling at £699 inc carriage so just wondered if anyone has had any dealings with them. I appreciate that...

Tell me what your choice would be!

Thanks for taking an interest and also for the great advice. I have to say, my gut feeling kept telling me, go Record you'll be OK, so all you've done is confirm what I wanted to do in the first place. Great helpful forum to be a part of, mind you if it all goes wrong, it's your fault :D I did...

Tell me what your choice would be!

I'm a retired but active woodworking hobbyist, using mainly small stock softwoods but sometimes ripping 65x65mm x .60m lengths but not often. I'm looking at two bandsaws, the Record BS300 and the Lumberjack BS340 they are both the same price at £699. The Record looks to be more solid (I could...

    Bandsaw blades?

As a hobbyist and for general purpose use, which couple of their blades would you recommend I should start with?

    Bandsaw blades?

I'm looking at perhaps getting the Record BS300E bandsaw. I've been told their blades are pretty useless, if so, what make of blade would you recommend?

    Bandsaws, not again again!!!!

Question, Imagine, this, a non professional but keen woodworker, working from his shed. has got £700 to spend on a bandsaw! The maximum depth of rip cut he would want to make is unlikely to exceed 75mm in pine or similar. What saw would you personally recommend to him?
