    Dust extractor

Just bought myself a Sheppach HA1000 dust extractor and used it for the first time this morning. Although I've been around, and using timber biggest part of my 85 years I'm only a novice with band saws and home woodworking. I've only got a 8'x8' shed to work in and when I switched the extractor...

    That's odd!

I quote this direct from the manual:- Only suitable for collecting chips (dust). Perhaps this was printed before they supplied paper bags to cover the filter maybe?

    That's odd!

Treated myself to an extractor a Sheppach HA 1000 for my bandsaw after it was recommended on the forum. It arrived today and looking at the box it say's Dust Extractor but when I opened it and read the instruction book it say's, extractor for wood chip's and not designed for dust????

    planer thicknesser

Iv'e got quite a few, probably 20 or so 3ft lengths of 3"x3" semi planned timber which is not truly square. I'm not too sure what it is but it's a fairly hard soft wood. I'm sure I could come up with a few projects for this once it's truly prepared.

    planer thicknesser

Thanks for your thoughts and tips I appreciate you only get what you pay for perhaps I ought to wait until I can afford something a little better. It seems Machine Mart do one that's about £300 which seems to get good reviews

    planer thicknesser

I'm only a small time hobby woodworker and sometime in the future I'd like to think I could buy a planer thicknesser. This would only be for the very occasional use and being a pensioner on a very limited budget I couldn't afford a lot. I notice Screwfix do a Titan one at about £180 would...

    Dust extractor

I'm thinking your'e right, I'll mainly be cutting 5-10mm ply and a lot of that will be cutting into it rather than in sections so more of a fine dust.

Thanks for that mate, I will only be making fine dust so don’t think I need anything too powerful

    Dust extractor

Hi, As anyone had any experience of the Record Camac dust extractor. Thinking of maybe getting one for my BS300E bandsaw if my old damaged back holds up.

    What's it worth

Evening all, Some of you may remember my previous post on this matter but here goes. I'm an 85 year old git but still like to do a bit of woodwork Albeit in my own amateur way. Anyhow I've always fancied getting my self a bandsaw so after much sweet talking the od Dutch and saving hard I got a...

I'm an old git but ready to learn

Good morning all, You ain't going to believe this, I bought a new Record BS300 bandsaw to try my hand at a bit of woodwork in my old age (I'm 85) I made a platform with 4 good quality castors to be able to move the saw about then stupidity took over because, I tried lifting the saw onto the...

    Just got back into it!

Not done any woodwork for yonks and now my son has asked me to make him a couple of gates and this would include having to do a good few mortice and tenon joints. Can't remember the last time I did these, no problem with the tenons I can cut these with my bandsaw. I would appreciate it if...

Probably been asked many times before but, what dust extractor should I get for my new Record BS300E bandsaw? I know Record do a specific on for this saw but are there any alternatives that you would recommend? Perhaps some are just as good and maybe cheaper but would they come with the right...
