Thanks for your input I hark back to the days of Mannesmann Tally dot matrix printers, just ribbons which they liked to eat and jam the works up Then moved onto inkjets of various manufacture, but all ink jets gave the same abysmal performance unless used virtually daily, constant blockages...

    Laser printer recommendations

Thanks for yours, I read through the posts and will keep them in mind but found nothing conclusive there I was rather surprised to find when I looked for a manual for my Samsung to be redirected to HP, who I assume are churning out what were Samsung printers Amazon said the Samsung ML 1665...

As in the HP type of practice and something I would avoid

    Laser printer recommendations

This is exactly what I wanted to avoid when I gave up with ink jet printers Since 2010 buying this fairly basic Samsung ML 1665 it has never let me down, always printed first time, every time, and in all that time have only had to replace one toner cartridge Granted I am not a heavy user but I...

    Laser printer recommendations

Thanks for yours, I found no difference at all between the overpriced OE ink cartridges and after market types or even refilling them when I used to use them, they all blocked up without constant use I wouldn't want to be cornered into OE only for any printer

    Laser printer recommendations

I appreciate all printer consumables have a life, but never had to change a drum yet, the ones that were mentioned that require it, were I think HP printers they also try to tie up purchasers into using their products, so would avoid HP

    Laser printer recommendations

I got thoroughly fed up with ink jet printers and having to replace cartridges seemingly every time I wanted to use it, so bought a Samsung ML 1665 mono laser printer back in 2010, it has worked faultlessly each and every time I needed to print something, during that time I have replaced one...

    I've seen it all!!!

These things are for those with more money than sense, if they manage to sell their items, fair play to them As said feedback can be misleading as it can be manipulated Its like a lot of stuff on other sites like Etsy, people pay huge sums for things, just to say they have paid huge sums My...

    Shaving

Having had a serious road accident courtesy of a drunk driver in the late 60s, it left me with scar tissue where the stitches were, so after a couple of attempts to shave with a wet razor and ending up looking like the chain saw massacre, I gave up on shaving and have only ever shaved my beard &...

    Record Disc sander

When I looked around a few years back for a 10" velcro type backing for my sander I couldn't find anything wider than 2", so used that in strips across the disc, its still holding fine after many changes of sanding disc

    Ww2 Records, Any tips?

Surviving WW1 records are available on Ancestry & Findmypast both have their own transcriptions so can bring up different results Roughly two thirds of WW1 service records were lost in WW2, so chances of finding a mans complete record are slim The medal index cards are the most complete set...

    Ww2 Records, Any tips?

PS there are moves afoot to move the WW2 records to the National Archives over the next ten years and no doubt one of the big companies will bid for the contract of scanning and making them available online but that is a long way off as yet

    Ww2 Records, Any tips?

No site no matter what they promise will have WW2 records, all records post 1920 are still with the MOD, you can send for them its £30 and a long wait, RAF records can now be ordered and paid for online, but Navy & Army are by cheque and order forms as posted above, RAF are quite quick, Navy and...
