    New Hegner User

That was indeed my point also ;-) I like Marmite but hate spirals, I find no enjoyment in using them I prefer to scroll saw rather than spend most of the time changing snapped blades and sanding afterwards Not to mention the cost of them (ie at least 4 spirals to one flat blade)

    Driving at night

I would agree with you, the modern lights are way to bright and can blind you I try not to drive at night but sometimes you have to and on a recent 200 mile drive back it was dreadful, how many cars blinded you Then there are those who don't put any lights on at all despite the road...

Proxxon DSH 2 Speed Scroll Saw

As you say must be an early model, not seen one like that But although Proxxon are well regarded, the comment I see most from users is that the pinless blade change is fiddly so perhaps you are not missing much anyway ;-) Mine's almost same as this one same model number, but the tension knob...

Proxxon DSH 2 Speed Scroll Saw

The DSH 2 had blade clamps that take both and tightened with pinless with a T bar wrench which clips on the side

Proxxon DSH 2 Speed Scroll Saw

A better way to get tight corners with pinned blades is to use a good quality blade such as Pegas, chalk & cheese compared to the standard pinned blades

Proxxon DSH 2 Speed Scroll Saw

Thats odd as the Proxxon has clamps that take both pinned and pinless, has somebody changed them?

    Electronic mouse repellents

We tried one a few years back, no effect at all Stop up holes, lay poison in out of the way places on runs if possible Keep food contained and and crumbs etc tidied up The usual attraction is food, take away the food and they don't bother

    Looks interesting

Perhaps I am missing something here? Its an upside down jigsaw for quite a lot of money Buy a cheaper jigsaw (which have limited uses anyway) and screw it to an offcut and clamp it to the workbench What am I missing? Additionally I now see the item doesn't even include a jigsaw ! As to...

    Scroll saw

Yes fully aware the AWFS18 is a clone of the Hegner As I said my comment was just my opinion of one machine, not a slight on Hegners in general, to repeat myself, it was just to say that even so called upper end machines can have their problems (so why not try a cheapie first) Whilst its just...
