    Not so smart meter

As a follow up My original enquiry had an auto reply on screen saying they would answer in two working days, then I received a follow up auto reply email stating six working days And about 18 days later I got a phone call, she arranged for an engineer to come out, I said I would like them...

    Not so smart meter

As a small follow up to my not so smart meter It still says I have used .19p worth of electricity (I wish) But the gas usage is going up incrementally each day, rather than from midnight each day, and it still reads the 28th November Despite my complaints to SSE, I have heard nothing from...

    Not so smart meter

There is the perception by some, that in this day and age with all the record keeping of every mortal thing we do, that our lives will be heavily recorded for posterity, they do not seem to realise that due to various regulations and the fear of litigation, companies dispose of as much as they...

    Not so smart meter

There are two main types of smart meter Type 1 will not be transferable to a new supplier Type 2 *may* be transferable to a new supplier I have type 1 but it will not stop me changing supplier which I intend to do fairly soon

    Not so smart meter

I got fed up with the seemingly endless calls from my electricity supplier asking if I wanted a smart meter, so eventually gave in and had one installed a few months back For a about three days now its saying I have used .19p worth of electricity which would be fine if true, unfortunately its...

    Aldi scroll saw

If you check the picture of them I posted previously, you unbolt the one thats fitted and using the same bolt, using the smaller of the holes in the figure of eight in the clamp, bolt it in the same position (hook down if you will) I have seen them fitted with the previous tin plate clamp...

    Aldi scroll saw

Not sure welding them in position is such a good idea, what happens when or if one breaks or wears, bolting on would be better IMHO

    Aldi scroll saw

If you have the capability, it shouldn't be to hard to make some, I know others who have, otherwise the clamps as posted previously from Axminster might be an alternative

    Aldi Scroll Saw discounted

I was in Aldi yesterday and they had three of the Workzone scroll saw at £59.99 Not sure if its the same in all branches

    Aldi scroll saw

Removing the side panel to gain better access is something a lot of users do The Aldi saw is a Scheppach rebadged (or at least those I have seen are) Most saws below £150 have the same type of "hanger" type blade clamps for pinless, which although they work are a pain to use What you can...

    Aldi scroll saw

Most things that take a little skill and experience, look very easy ;-) You will learn as you go along and gain experience, choosing the right blade for the job (and good quality blades, not the agricultural ones you get with the saw) will make all the difference It depends on the corner...

    Aldi scroll saw

PS you can pick them up quite cheaply second hand often with a lot of accessories

    Aldi scroll saw

Yes quite right, you need to use things to be able to get experience of them You will be pleasantly surprised at how useful a dremel is I suspect

    Aldi scroll saw

I hope I didn't put you off the idea of a router at some stage but did want to emphasise the dangers They are extremely useful but do need great care in their use

    Aldi scroll saw

When you say "smooth and rounded" ? how rounded ? If you use good quality scroll saw blades, sanding will be kept to a minimum, I usually only have to touch up with a fine file or nail file (emery board) If you mean a rounded edge, you can achieve that with sanding There are various types of...

New scroll saw upgrade - Hegner/Axi/other

I have the AWFS18 and am more than happy with it (a Hegner clone as has been said) I got it with the stand, and not wanting to waste time set about using it without bolting it down, and its still that way some two or more years later, very little vibration, and does all I ask of it The only...

    My first thing...

You appear to have started with a thickish hardwood by the looks of it, perhaps try some softwood or something thinner Try some 3mm or 6mm plywood for a few things to get used to how the saw reacts, blade choice might also be something you will get more accustomed to over time

Just bought a Hegner Multicut 1 - What's Missing from it?

Not to keen on getting older either :-(
