    Shopping comparison sites?

The simple answer is yes, it can save a lot I have in the main used it for certain products that I know I am going to use regularly, clover, T bags, deodorants etc not for the weekly shop (does anyone still do that?) likewise for my wifes often used hairspray, deodorant, face cream etc So...

    Shopping comparison sites?

Hi all For several years I have used a site called MySupermarket Sadly with little notice they have closed, they hope to sell on but its said they will only give it to the end of April I just wondered if anyone else had any other price comparison sites worth trying Its a great pity as...

Choosing a scroll-saw. Why pay more? the answer is here.

The previous model number was AWFS18 (which I have) If you are not in to much of a rush, try saving searches on the various sites, they do come up from time to time, around £150 to £250 Definitely worth waiting for The Record SS16V is no better than the Workzone (Scheppach) version for a lot...

    EBay slippery selling

As with most things in life, there are good and bad people And with any selling platform there are good & bad sellers and buyers The problem is the distance involved very often with ebay And yes its heavily weighted in the buyers favour (very heavily) As a buyer I have had no problems, or...

Source of pinned blades or a decent adaptor?

Probably help if I attached the picture ;-)

Source of pinned blades or a decent adaptor?

On pinned blades, if you have some of the usual generic pinned blades, they are a lot thicker than Pegas, in fact I haven't found any as thin as Pegas On the adaptors, the Axminster clamps as per attached, fit instead of the metal U shaped hanger, invert the U shape and fit on the top of the...

Source of pinned blades or a decent adaptor?

I would agree with Pegas pinned blades being very good, the problem being the cost, they are double the price of pinless You would soon pay for a couple of blade clamps using pinless I believe the problems some have with the replacement clamps is due to fitment rather than the clamp itself

Source of pinned blades or a decent adaptor?

They are the ones I usually suggest but it depends on the machine, if its the type in the photo they will fit, but some others they don't

Source of pinned blades or a decent adaptor?

Axminster Hobby covers several different models, a picture of yours would help greatly Plus the actual model number which should be on the plate Does your blade clamp look like the attached?

Seeking a nut for my dad's old tool

I assume you do not have jars/boxes/drawers full of myriads of nuts as most blokes seem to hoard (guilty) So why not just change the whole bolt and nut ?

    Lidl doing LED battens

We have an entrance with a flight of stairs, it had a 4ft florescent fitting Got fed up with the flick flick flick on and having to change starters or tubes, so thought I would try an LED batten instead It was £25 delivered, the difference is very marked , the expression "its like a chip...

    Dremel for 'carving'?

I can vouch for the usefulness of dental drills ;-) My dad was a dentist and I begged some from him in various sizes years ago before he retired, I am still using them some 40+ years later Initially they were for model making as I was into war gaming at the time but they have come in useful...

    Dremel for 'carving'?

I can't imagine using a flex shaft with a standard drill, the noise would drive you insane and would be rather uncontrollable IMHO As to avoiding Dremels, I wouldn't agree but you don't have to pay Dremel prices, my 2nd hand Dremel with full kit, bench stand, flexi, grout cutter, circle cutter...

    Dremel for 'carving'?

As others have said, the Dremel can do all the things you ask and there are oodles of bits, burs, sanders etc A corded variety are better (IMHO) than the cordless, you will not have to be waiting for a charge up at a critical moment ;-) A flexi shaft is priceless, so much better than holding...

    Which blade?

Thats okay I just wondered why no one else had replied ;-) You will find Pegas blades as good as you can get If your machine takes pinless, its worth noting they are about half the price of pinned blades

    Which blade?

I am hoping this isn't a wind up ;-) Standard scroll saw blades are 5" or 127 to 130mm I would suggest getting decent blades as they make life so much easier, and often cost less than the DIY store type <https://www.axminster.co.uk/accessories/machinery-accessories/sawing/scroll-saw-blades>

    Any Volvo fans on here?

I have had Volvos for some years now, a 240 estate, then a 940 estate, now a V70 estate, mostly for a work horse, not many cars you get could load with more than the Volvos, latterly to tug a caravan I owe my life to a Volvo actually, albeit a Daf 66 type Volvo 66, in which I was a passenger...
