I want to sell my Sartrite 401s Bandsaw but it has a problem

I tension the blade on my EB 316 to the minimum that is without slip or problems. I pluck the blade, as with a guitar string, and try to remember the sound and the feel of it whenever I have to retention.

Suggestions for using vine truss wood

They are 700 long, 100 to 120 dia at base and 60 to 70 at the top. I thought of making kitchen spatulas, butter knives etc. but I have no idea if this wood is suiatble. I also thought of cross cutting discs and mounting on a back board for some form of decoration. Regarding how long to let...

Suggestions for using vine truss wood

I have a couple of vine trusses that were 40 to 50 years old when they were cut (but I don't know how long ago that was). I have been thinking about making kitchen utensils, but wonder if members have used this wood for anything else.

    Scheppach basato blade jumping

I recently had trouble setting up a used bandsaw that I had just got and followed Steve Mackery's DVD to set initial tension, tracking and final tension. In my case the blade was running too far forward on the bottom wheel and I successfully adjusted the bottom wheel axle and now the blade runs...

    BAS 316G Bandsaw setup

Update on lower wheel adjustment. I have successfully adjusted the lower wheel 'tracking' and now have the blade running in the centre of both wheels. I used the method posted by 'Gidon'. It took (3) adjustments of the '6 o'clock' steering bolt - (2) x 1/2 turn of the bolt to lift the axle...

    BAS 316G Bandsaw setup

Would you say that the position of the blade on the bottom wheel is acceptable? Given that there is not much clearance between the top wheel and the frame (Pic 3), which might compromise tracking on other blades, and the fact that I have had to remove the door catch, would that suggest that over...

    BAS 316G Bandsaw setup

I can only assume that the M6 bolts cause the sheet metal frame to flex at the place where the axle is clamped by the M20 nut - I would have preffered to see a pair of spherical seat washers though. If I do attempt a move I will have replacement bolts and nuts to hand and take measurements of...

    BAS 316G Bandsaw setup

Gidon Thanks for the info. I won't do anything for a while until I think I have exhausted all ideas. I can understand how the rear steering bolts should adjust the lower wheel's attitude but I'm not sure how an M6 bolt can overcome the effect that the M20 axle clamping nut has on the axle's...

    BAS 316G Bandsaw setup

This is my first post. I recently got my first bandsaw (EB BAS 316G) and have put in a new 3/8 Tuffsaws' blade and am setting it up as per Steve Maskery's DVD. Having set the tracking and tension this is the position of the blade on the top and bottom wheels:- Pic 1 - blade running on top wheel...
