    Got a pile of mortice chisels which are good quality. But I'm so inexperienced I'm not sure which bits fit which chisels properly etc. all a bit of a jumble - also not sure if chisels and bits are sharp enough. Does anyone know someone really trustworthy who would check them over and sharpen...

    Extractor Recommendation

    I'm going round in circles trying to decide on a chip collector at the moment. I'm using a SIP bucket one for the table saw, radial arm, bandsaw etc. and a wickes vac on a cyclone for the router table and ower tools, basically everything except the planer thicknesser.     A digital catalogue would be good. The good thing about a catalogue is you can't see whats on the next page so can inspire you to a new purchase which the web doesn't always do

    I've seen no bargains really. I would've been ready to spend on a tv/dvd combi, a new smartphone, the worx plunge saw if homebase did their 20% off thing and a new 2hp dust extractor but nothing at all on sale was a bargain from the previous week

    I have a powercraft version of this - can't remember if it is lidl or aldi but you respect is limitations for a lot of woodworking uses it is good enough. You have to watch the belt for tight and the speed because it doesn't have the guts to be pushed

    Ah ok thanks. Another question - can I use a metric bit in an imperial chisel or not? On second thoughts a chainsaw file would probably do the bit
