    I've never seen one in the flesh but one was featured on QI they once had strange medical devices, don't know if still used in UK if so my nephew may have one in his paramedic kit.

    that is a possibility also it has been suggested it's a milk warmer but the tub at the top only holds 2 FL oz and from the patent no. 10192 stamped on the base it's an 1882 vesta case in the shape of a cigarette. As it collapses into a pocket sized thingy I think it's a travelling brandy warmer...

    Yes wasps, I often get them trying to build them on a shed door the most awkward place possible when there is mature woodland over the road that must have far better places to nest.     As a former employee of Elliott Automation I can definitely state that I never saw or used one, but my guess would be it's to mount an accelerometer so that it could stand with it's pointed feet securely in a mat on the seat or in the footwell of the car being tested.

    $18,500* I like it but a bit pricy as a cheapskate I'm on the list for first go with the Citroën Ami, as a quadracycle limited performance and range but it will tow easily behind my dirty diesel Rapido MH and save on having to purchase an invalid buggy in the coming years. .

    Soft coil copper pipe from refrigeration suppliers is what is required to make coils except it isn't 22mm as still in inch sizes 1/4 to 7/8 and connections made with flared nuts so tool required.
