    Hinge advice…

What about instead of regular hinge-type doors, make them pull-out, a bit like you get bin cupboards on kitchens? (Obviously without the whacking great metal handle 😉 )

    Mdf cabinet tops

I've lipped these veneered mdf shelves with Oak, but the lippings are wider/thicker than the shelves and so I guess that makes them an Apron lipping. This adds strength and reduces any tendency for the mdf to sag. I've also rebated them over to reduce the seen line on top and to increase gluing...

    What Wood is this?

Does it smell when you've cut it? Cedar usually has quite a distinctive nose.

That is so cool. Disagree on the skilled aspect. Love it. Did you follow a guide or are you just, a bee guy? 👏

    Oak furniture sun damage protection

The Wood Veneer Hub do peel and stick Oak veneer which could be an option. You may be able to wipe pva under the lifted sections, cover with a sheet of paper and iron it on a low heat until flat and stuck.

You Tube vids - Actually making something, like furniture

Ishitani furniture is good for pure making. Most people want to make their own versions of things though, not the exact thing, so jigs and stuff are useful. They can then apply the technique to their own interpretation.

You Tube vids - Actually making something, like furniture

Most of the work in making can be making templates and jigs. If you're not showing that, you're not showing the making.

    router jig for sign making

The only thing with those template things is....the text looks dreadful! 😂 Like awful early computer word processor font from the eighties! I've done a few signs where I've printed out my lettering in whatever text and glued it to the wood. Freehand routed away a decent area around and close to...

Leaking timber front door - how to fix?

I always thought the beads had to go on the inside for security?

    Birch ply alternative?

I'd have no issues there with using mdf, BUT, I would definitely add a wide lipping, say 50mm biscuit jointed onto the fronts. That would give you a strong shelf. You can also then add lighting behind the shelf lips which is always nice.

Why use a cyclone on your vac for power tools?

I run a Festool CTLSYS under my bench that I use with any hand held power tools. I have a cyclone attached that drops everything in a blue tub. The system completely stops me filling and having to empty the expensive Festool filter bags......and by that I mean that I always forget to check it's...

    Birch ply alternative?

What sort of span are the shelves? Mdf with hardwood lippings around 50mm. Stiffens it up good.

Cheers. They're little walnut tapered pegs. Tapped into the tenon ends gently to give detail and also very slightly give a wedge effect, spreading the Tenon ends a smidge.

YouTube to introduce licensing for creative content

Seems like they're getting further and further away from what they did so brilliantly at the beginning. Shame.
