Anyone got experience of insulated roof panels?

Take a look at rollaclad box panels made in or near Cardiff. I used them on a 20m x 5M Workshop. It’s an apex roof so each sheet cut by them to my length (3.something metres long they are used on industrial warehouses with very much longer lengths. Their specifications and documentation re...

    The future of scroll saws

I’m guessing that most of us, even if we have a choice of different bandsaw blades to pick from, don’t actually change blades to use the perfect one for the next cut to be done. I mostly use the same one. But I do also have and use a small delta bandsaw if cutting small radius curves, and also...

Wax on Danish Oil - yes or no??

I always wax when I making something new and using danish oil, but for some reason I don’t after applying it to the oak worktops in our utility room. And I’ve no idea why I never wax them, I oil them every 6 months or so, but have never even thought of waxing them too.

What to do with an older RPBG 6” grinder?

I’ve got an older (non metric) record bench grinder that is redundant, but motor fine. I have both a Tormek and good 8” dry grinder. Any suggestions for getting further use from the old one?

Does a Metal garage roof increase the temperature in the summer?

If you use the appropriate fixing screws that have the rubber seal then water won’t run in. They are used on the panels used on many commercial warehouses etc. My 20m x5m workshop stays dry and temperate year round.

Metabo HC260C - how many amps?

I can look at the plate when I’m back down the workshop, but they work fine on a regular 13 amp socket. Mine has for the last decade. It is an induction motor, so big initial load, but it doesn’t need a slow fuse or anything special. Stuart

I wonder what the probability is that all the domestic feed in systems are all 100%effective in turning off when the network fails. Is there a possibility that very low voltage could arise from a defective domestic PV system locally? I know it shouldn’t happen in theory.

    WiFi extenders

…. And given that you’ve got floorboards up everywhere for underfloor heating, may be good to take advantage whether or not you find you need them.

    WiFi extenders

Whilst I don’t know the answer for you, I put cat6 everywhere after we moved here 16 years ago. Not much of it gets used anymore. The “smart” TV is plugged in rather than Wi-Fi, and so is one Sonos device, all the other Sonos stuff is in a Sonos network which is a mesh network of its own and it...

Metabo hc260 thicknesser bed height not adjusting

The first time it happened to me, I think quite a lot to do with it was too much wood dust clinging to the four threaded posts, so that there was a lot of resistance to smooth running. I am quite nerdy now about vacuuming after thicknessing. But also the tensioner had become incredibly loose...
