Any (post 2008) Economists in the house? - Inflation.

omg! I get these daily emails cluttering up my inbox every day. Most of the posts are about c*** that is completely off topic. Full of old buffers rattling on about stuff seen only through their old pedantic eyes. Off topic facts drawn from wikipedia, social media and newspapers. Competing...

    Advice for tools for joinery

Tcrowe...you got to know this site is full of old duffers in sheds reminiscing about the 'good old days' using, or claiming to use, copious amounts of old hand tools. Good for the 19th century but no good anymore. You can pick and choose advice but you need to remain in the machine age! As has...

Does PVA have a shelf life?

My experience is it depends on the manufacturer of the glue, whether they are worthy of their title or a just bunch of sc*****. Below 50 degrees destroys all PVA in my opinion and so as has already been said; not worth the risk. Croda used to be the best, not sure now. I always use Howdens...

    Formica laminate

Ah yes that would explain why they have a two star review rating then lol

How would you have marked this out?

Sounds to me like your marking knife and your chisels were not razor sharp. Drilling waste out has to be done at 90. All these operations take years of experience learning from old boys at the bench not on youtube.

    Formica laminate

At 2.25mm thick it must be compact grade Formica, or a left over from the sixties, so to achieve perfection, you must compensate the reverse with exactly the same laminate and start with a dead straight board or you are on a hiding to nothing. This includes the effectiveness of the adhesive. BTW...

    toolbag advice

You are all bonkers to pay that much money for a plastic and fibre tool box. No wonder day rates are so high. Make your own boxes. It elevates your self esteem and you will likely get more recommendation and recognition.

    Lots of hot air

Climate change sceptics may be in the pay of oil companies etc. but climate change scientists, including Greenpeace, are directed by those that provide their funding. None can truly be universally believed. Jacob thinks population is not the problem (lmao), he and many others pick their 'facts'...

    Lots of hot air

Thanks for the insult. Go on then, give us the very long list. You know, the one that keeps you on the supporting pedestal that preaches hominids have an inane right to blindly continue to stumble into the hell hole they created. You think you have a right to judge me and accuse me of...

    Lots of hot air

'but we don't purposely waste them either' lmao Planes that burn a gallon of fuel every second and container ships that burn 60000 gallons per day. Yet folks seem to think they are entitled to a ‘holiday in the sun’ and others buying things they don’t actually need, made by the biggest...

    Buying my first plane.

Personal preference indeed. I have around 60 planes of all types. I use the Record 51/2 a lot but the two I use the most are; Lie Nielsen skew block plane and a very old Record 4 with shop made handles, widened mouth and a Hotley blade.

    Sander buying advice.

Recycled scraper blades. Far superior finish and zero cost to the planet.
