Axminster Tools Warrington & Newcastle CLOSURES.

It's not just in the North, it's the Midlands and the South as well. Axi have already closed Nuneaton and Basingstoke. IIRC, there was also a big doubt over Cardiff, but the landlord must have seen sense as I see it is on the Axi list of supported stores. It's just such a sad day for us...

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

Hi, I'm sorry to hear your news. If you don't have a 'retention of title' clause on your invoices then you will, probably, get very little from the administration. You need something like this on your invoices, 'Notwithstanding the other provisions in these Sales Conditions, XXXXX shall retain...

Is there a definitive pillar drill - new or used - that is better than the Bosch PBD40 for the same money?

JPG, if you decide to buy the Bosch and can wait a few weeks, then buy one in the Amazon Black Friday sale. IIRC,I saved 60-70 pounds last year when I bought one. Apparently, it gets reduced every Black Friday.

Never let them tell you its above your pay grade.

PTS, the timber frame is just beautiful. How long did it take you to complete the frame and what timber did you use?

    Help please, someone near Nottingham

Thank you okd, that was my first thought. I do have hardwood, but due to a recent stomach operation I can't do any heavy lifting, so it is a no-no.

    Help please, someone near Nottingham

Hello there, I have just bought some castors for my workbench and realise that I will need to 'pack' the top half of the fixing so that it is level. I am after four pieces of metal, 4mm thick x 35mm x 38mm with three holes drilled in it. Is there anyone near Nottingham that could help please...

How do I avoid being stung by Phoenix company fraud?

Hi Noel, Your example is not the situation that I was describing. If Rod had been invoiced for the goods, and paid the invoice, he would have good title irrespective of whether his supplier had paid for the goods. As Rod only took delivery of the goods, he was not a party to the sale and...

How do I avoid being stung by Phoenix company fraud?

Yes, I realise he paid the builder. But as long as he has an invoice for the goods, and he paid the invoice, then he has good title.

How do I avoid being stung by Phoenix company fraud?

Hi Rod, if you had an invoice for the goods and you have paid for them, then they are yours. Even though the merchant hasn't been paid, you have good title. Neil
