Storage under a awkward sized workbench?

If I used 18mm plywood would that prevent racking? On a 1265mm wide shelf?

That’s really interesting, I’m currently storing t stacks under there on a piece of melamine and i desperately need some sort of drawer/slide shelf for my big collection of chisels and planes, do you both have any pictures of what yours look like?

Storage under a awkward sized workbench?

Advice needed on a mechanics workbench I have. It currently has a bench drill, small sander and grinder. My question is: What sortve of storage would be helpful on something like this? Also can a sheet of ply suffice? I have one proposed design and one of the bench in it’s current state...

Cyclone + Festool MIDI for Makita 2012nb planer

I think when it come to thicknessers, you get a lot of larger chips- something which can clog up on a smaller pipe. Also, a vacuum is much better at transferring finer dust so in terms of thicknessing I really would suggest getting a chip extractor.

63mm or less for vacuum extractors 100mm or more for chip extractors. I have both because they both do different things in the workshop

Vapour barrier in a detached concrete garage?

Sounds silly but how do I know where the moisture/damp air is coming from? If you cover with DPM and VP do you just mask the problem or make it worse?

Vapour barrier in a detached concrete garage?

Thanks everyone, I’ve gone with this product for the walls but might need the same again or something “thicker” or different for the floor as it feels a tad cooler than the walls.

Vapour barrier in a detached concrete garage?

Hi what’s the difference between a damp proof membrane and a vapour barrier? I’m using a 2500w fan heater. Just brought some wickes vapour barrier and hopefully that will help! I’m going to need to put 50mm PIR on the walls too I guess. Thank you again guys.

Vapour barrier in a detached concrete garage?

Hi everyone, I already have my roof insulated and I put my heater on two days ago and could get to about 14.5/ 15 degrees which was nice, however I’m noticing my humidity meter was reading between 80-90%. How do I get this percentage down? Is it by using a vapour barrier with wall and floor...

    Construction adhesive?

Hi- here’s the picture- it has 30mm sections and larger “posts” either way I’ll look to use some adhesive for the internal stud work.

    Construction adhesive?

    Nothing it’s a detached garage

    Construction adhesive?

Only issue is… the concrete is really thin and about 30mm thick? I’ve tried some small raw plugs to help but it is really thin.

    Construction adhesive?

Just a quick question, I’m attaching timber studs to a concrete wall. What grab adhesive would you use? Thanks so much and have a great Christmas everyone 👍

    Workshop floor? Keep it concrete?

Sorry to sound daft, do you need battens for the insulation on the floor?

    Workshop floor? Keep it concrete?

To my understanding I have a large concrete slab as a floor. Only issue is? I am insulating the walls and want it to be a little warmer and more comfortable on my feet. Can a celotex floor with joists and ply, a rubber floor or just a plywood floor suffice? Thanks for reading.

    Axminster Professional AP2920B Bandsaw - 230V vs. SABRE-350 14” Bandsaw - 230v

Just wanted to say the new Axminster saw is really new so there is a slim chance that someone has it on the forum. However, you could try and watch videos of them both or visit showrooms and see if you can get a “feel” for them.
