Gallery additions, the quest for me time.

Does that mean the yew pile is reducing. Not seen that wood before. As per normal three nicely turned pieces. Like the shape of the smaller pot a little like me short and rounded

Money for nothing or what a load of bo***cks

The one that made me laugh more than any other was the blokes that turned Christmas trees and still made a fortune I missed where they sold them as I would have contacted them and sold some proper turning

    Cereal bowl

The only thing that I would say is check that the person does not have any nut allergies. If in you are not sure then use the food safe oil from chestnut.

At The Going Down of The Sun

Thank you all. I have already been approached by someone who would like to buy it but had to refuse them as it has the Royal British Legion poppy sysmols on it instead I will be donating this piece to the RBL local branch after Saturday as I made this also as a competition piece

At The Going Down of The Sun

Thank you all. I have been working on this for nearly a week as the decoration was originally going to be flames but two days ago I decided to rub it back and go with this design. The inside and bottom I have left natural wood so people can see the material that this piece is made from

Nice bowls the first one has just enough texture so as not to take away from the grain

At The Going Down of The Sun

This is my tribute to all those that gave so much from all around the world. I named it "At The Going Down of The Sun" because of the lines of the verse as well as the soldier silhouetted against the setting sun I then added some poppies for that little extra way of remembering the fallen. Made...

    Chestnut bowl

Normally I use a very small foot which is tucked under the piece so it is not seen this gives the impression of the item floating and the other is a curve so that it appears as if the item is sitting in the surface. Thank you for your thoughts all the same

    Chestnut bowl

For most bowls that is what I do but thought I would try a different approach with this one and the walnut one I have just finished
  17. Dalboy

    Chestnut bowl

Maybe this show the foot a little better the bowl was intended to flow down to the foot by the means of a small ogee shape. Thank you for the observation

    Chestnut bowl

Todays little effort from the workshop a small chestnut burr, Finished with sander sealer and buffed on a three wheel buffer. Measures 6" X 3 1/4". I had to tidy the top rim up as a piece broke off making it look untidy for a natural edge C & C welcome

Another very nice bowl Chas. And looks like you are going to be busy with those that have been prepared, like the stick on tenons saves loosing wood depth on the bowl I have just cut off one from the piece I have just complete.
