    My lathe uses 30-grade oil as recommended by the manufacturer. I have been running it for 5 years with no problems as long as you keep oiling every couple of days use. It only needs about three drops each time otherwise it will spray out everywhere. 3in1 oil seems to me to be a bit thin

    Had a couple of club members over for a chat and to go over different things so I turned this while they were here. London Plane finished with sander sealer and buffed with carnauba wax. Measures 8 1/2" X 1 1.2"

    Worth seeing when Charnwood get them back in stock. A useful chart for anyone looking for an adaptor HERE it means that any accessories will need to be M33 X 3.5 but that could be a good thing if you every upgrade your machine as many newew lathes are using that size

    Chris if you make a small hole in the centre of the doughnut chuck say about 1" diameter you can use that to centre a jam type chuck if you ever do natural edge bowls

    I just had to do something as I have been busy with other things. So a quick rummage and found some box blanks which I cut off of the corners of planks which I turned into bowl blanks. This is Elm and finished with sander sealer and carnauba wax.

    That turned out nice. Great job It always surprises me what you find in the most unexpected pieces of wood, sometimes you get an idea other times totally different from what you expect
