Kitchen Knife Set - Recommendations Please?

thats for carbon steel to help inhibit rusting, Personally I use damascus, but as others have said, decent stuff costs money. I also have a small obsession with Japanese knives, but it can be stupid money, I think i gave over £1500 for these 3 (my sharpening is improving....slowly ) Shun make...

    Ceiling covering?

right then :) doesnt really seem to be much if any sag, the only thing which makes no difference is a slope in the joists i.e. not level Next to laser Middle of garage End of garage Hope this helps

    Ceiling covering?

ok scrap 6mm ply in favour of 11mm OSB, after a coat or 2 of white paint i imagine that will be ok and its a bit cheaper than ply. I wonder if the long edge is the same way as the joists it may add a bit of strength? I love all this diversity of opinion, but my god it makes it harder a numpty...

    Ceiling covering?

do they do a foil backed ply? 6 or 9mm be ok? ill of course paint it white. The garage is an odd shape, the door end width is 4.1m and the other end width is 2.8m. the depth is 5.2m, im not complaining though, its a decent size for a single garage

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

by "combo", do you mean RCBO's with indicators that show what caused a trip? ....because i have no clue and don't profess to. just trying to get my new shiny working ;)

    Ceiling covering?

Hi chaps, As it will start to cool down soon, i want to get the joists covered and insulated for winter. I was thinking about 100mm slab insulation between the joists but then do i use plasterboard or OSB? MDF? Ply? I'm wondering it the weight of the sturdier materials could impact the joists...

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

Double reply, I put a 16A plug on a security light that worked just fine on the 16A socket. The electrician did put a fancy KEW meter on the circuits and tested for what i presumed were earth leaks spouting numbers and was happy with the results......if that means anything

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

That is exactly what I have (almost). I specifically had a dedicated 6mm armoured run to the garage for this reason. the only thing on the garage distribution box is 2 RCBO's. 1st is a 20A for 2 double sockets and the 2nd is the 16A RCBO (type b) for the single 16A socket for the saw. The...

    Axminster Price Hikes

Just ordered myself an Axi craft filter system doo dad as i thought its about time and should be adequate for a single garage. The price hasnt increased and is the same as the record power AC400...in fact it looks like an identical machine yet not in finest green Apparently it clears fine dust...

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

So I went to screwfix and got a 16A socket then used some blue flex > 13A plug and plugged it into the 20A radial, fired up ok, didn't trip the breaker, just took out the 13a fuse (to be expected)....nice to hear it run if a short while though :)

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

I don't think this rcbo has tristate indication, no matter what I do to both they go red or black.

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

I like this idea, but with a brand new machine i don't want to go outside of Laguna's documentation just in case there's a warranty call needed. Sparks is coming Friday to replace the type b with a type c rcbo.

    HEEELLPP!! Bandsaw tripping breaker

well bugger, now i'm more confused than ever. Now i know screwfix is not an electrical wholesaler, but they do have type C RCBO's. Although the brand in the garage is Steeple, my understanding is a Wylex will fit the same. ...wait a second, wasnt it deemed to look more like an earth leak on...
