well i really wanted the SCM, but i couldn't justify the extra grand for weekend hobby work, so I pulled the trigger on the axi one, should be here in 2-3 weeks!

keep us posted, i think delivery is 3-4 weeks at the moment but im not convinced by the split tables as it seems 2 things to go out of whack, that being said Axi stuff is supposed to be good for the money.

If so what are your thoughts? whats it like to setup, square up and maintain it? what are the split tables like? It seems the only one NEW in this price range that isn't going to be a 3 month delivery. Cheers

Didn't we have this whole saga with my bandsaw? just change it to a type C and you'll be fine, if you want a ton more info, check out the thread i posted about my laguna bandsaw. I had a type B and it was doing thee same thing you mention.

i think i can see a cheap mig welder on the horizon, stick welding gives me the heebee jeebies!

if only, i had to get rid of my 7x7 shed before we moved as the garden is tiny. shelves might be the way forward

often thought it would be cool to learn to weld, then i think ill either kill myself or burn the house down :)

The question was really I am buying a PT, what am i missing if i let go of the table saw? I have other tools I can use (including handsaws) for the same tasks.

some people like baking cakes, and some people like decorating them. Id rather spend less time turning rough timber into useable project parts and use tools/hand tools for finessing.

more woes......2-3 months delivery on the itech 260s....any other *new* machines worth considering around £1500 ? the axi has just bumped its price by £200 and is apparently a pain to setup with split tables. i may not have mentioned im fairly impatient :)

I wont be keeping the thicknesser, so i dont really have 2 tools i can do that with as the router table is standalone. nice idea though

oh i wanted a hammer combination, but then quickly realised i don't have space for one. i had a bit of a move around this morning and im kinda leaning towards keeping the small table saw, I think i'll get the planer/thicknesser in and see if i can make it work, then decide if i need to get rid...

I have a few handplanes, and i do like using them but i'm not sure i personally would want to go from sawn to prepared timber using one, id feel like a masochist. Id also need a decent bench and space is already a PITA
