    Vintage Workmate spares??

THINK the holes are threaded; the ones on my similar ones certainly are. Not sure where the feet now on it came from, as they've been on it for 30+ years. but could check the thread if it's any help.

    Mystery Lathe.

Being a flinty souled pedant, will point out that Pentax K lenses are bayonet fitting. The old 42mm threaded ones are usually called Pentax screw or thread. And they aren't "no use"; just occasionally they can solve a problem even on digital Pentaxes. Says the guy who still has an MX.

    Mystery Lathe.

Out of interest, what is the nose thread? If it was the same as the old or newer Unimats, that would open up a lot more accessories for you.

    Ear defenders

    Thanks, mate. Will do.

    Ear defenders

I've recently had to give in and get hearing aids (cost exactly 10 times what my first Morris Traveller cost me in 1962!) so am now hearing all the insults hurled at me. But also noticed while sawing up logs this afternoon that my Stihl mains chainsaw is actually a lot more noisy than I had...

    Not an aeroplane.

Aw, and there I was thinking it was a deadly design for a catapult/slingshot.

    Battery chainsaws

Hmmmm. Think I'll give that a miss!

    Battery chainsaws

Pics if Hyundai battery and charger, in case anyone can suggest an equivalent.

    Battery chainsaws

To clarify: As far as I can tell, the Hyundai battery is specific to them. At least noone seems to have suggested a definite equivalent, but will get some pics to see if anyone recognises it. Being a cheapskate, the S&J looked like a possible solution not involving adapters etc. More research...

    Precision Combination Chuck

Don't know if he is still in business, but Derek Pyatt from somewhere near Wolverhampton seemed to be the last supplier of stuff from the old Coronet range. And in response to an earlier comment, this chuck was actually manufactured in Sheffield; it was originally badged Hattersley and...

    Battery chainsaws

These have probably been covered elsewhere, but can't find a specific answer to my question. My cheap seconhand Hyundai battery chainsaw is getting a lot of use at the moment, so I'd been wondering about getting a spare battery. Seems they are no longer made for this saw, so beginning to...

Western Union - sending musical instrument.

Hmmm. Tricky one. Daughter took her cello back to US after they flew over a couple of weeks ago. It had to be sent by "special stream", not with their hold luggage. Finally arrived three days late, with the outside of the case badly damaged and serious damage to the instrument itself. So be...

    New woodworker

Know the feeling. When we moved to Scotland one of the big pluses was the doctor's surgery in the village, which probably saved my life, or at least saved me from potential disability. So what happened? Creeping privatisation of the NHS now means we have to drive 8 miles to the surgery, or 12...

    New woodworker

Welcome, mate. Got quite a few family still around Dolau (if it's the one on the Heart of Wales line), but not been back for a long time,

    Would you walk up?

Eight weeks ago, I was thinning the apples on a tree in our "orchard", about three feet off the ground, on a ladder. The branch on which is was leaning (gently, as I thought) snapped and I was deposited neatly on the ground. Nae problem, you would say, BUT exactly where my left hip landed was...

    Repair to concrete Garden Ornament

Possibly add some PVA to your sand-cement mix, and paint the raw joins on the original with some too. It makes the mixture more plastic and will also help bonding.

Sold Myford Super 7 metal working lathe - SOLD

Just noticed that lurking in a plastic sleeve among the bits and pieces is what looks like a Ridgeway expanding wood bit. You might like to separate that out.

Sold Myford Super 7 metal working lathe - SOLD

As others have said, that looks to be a super machine and well worth what you are asking. Just a couple of thoughts - would it be worth trying to sell the rotary table separately, and investing some of what you get for it in a decent 3-jaw chuck? Might make a more attractive package for a...
