    Lots of hot air

Every sensible person in the world today agrees that EVs will save the planet from Climate Change. Taking a leaf from the highly successful and rigidly adhered to tactic with Covid vaccination of targeting the most vulnerable, I do not think it is right to put the heaviest demands on the few...

    Lots of hot air

Using what we have more efficiently should be the top of everyone's agenda. Labelling it Climate Change and pointing out fire/flood/quake/less icecap etc etc, using fear to stoke anxiety (but not in the MSM as previously pointed out of course), dubious modelling obviously skewed by those with...

    Lots of hot air

No fear in the MSM then. Check. The current requirement for my life to not mean the death of "your" kids means I must buy an EV and have a heat pump. OK But then what? For some people the world in their lifetime gets hotter. For some people it gets colder. The Sahara is encroaching...

    Lots of hot air

If "they" said; Stick at one or two kids Use less wherever possible, from as close to you as possible Fix it rather than buy new where possible Pollute less Grow your own if you can How many people would argue with that? The outcome from doing that may mean big industry doesn't get quite what...

    Lots of hot air

Anecdotally, my neighbours Grandad reckoned all the black covering the tidal rocks near here only became black around WW2 because of all the oil from sunk ships. Still above water. I have tried to search for ports which have had to be modified due to all this sea level rising but all that comes...

    Lots of hot air

" Our Earth is warming. Earth's average temperature has risen by 1.5°F over the past century, and is projected to rise another 0.5 to 8.6°F over the next hundred years" From your post 30 in this thread as below. Discussing how this planet may have changed in the last few years is far too short...

    Cast iron corrosion

No, painted German steel from about 1980.

    Log storage, need some ideas

The Norweigan book is very good. I loved his comment on mouse ears :)

    Cast iron corrosion

Rust on the metal front bumper of my camper was no longer rust coloured after a few treatments over maybe a month or so, in use, in winter. No brushing, nothing done to remove what was there before. If you don't apply any for perhaps six months outside you it may start rusting again. The fins on...

    Work Gloves Needed

I believe you can do something with a thin skim of silicone mixed with something on the fingertips to make any glove smart phone compatable.

    Cast iron corrosion

There is no point buying the aerosols as you will discover so many places where it works really well that you should buy the 4 litre bottle in the first place. The problem with that is you will then use it a bit more thickly than would have come out of the aerosol (more and longer lasting...

    Lets talk hedge trimmers.

I bought a hedge cutter with a long reach so I didn't have to get on a ladder. Having spent a lot of time on construction sites working at height and trying to get it done both as safely as was reasonable and safe enough so those wearing a tie and shiny rigger boots are happy, the first step...

    Wooden Ships

Although of course I see how easy it is with everything within reach in the cockpit, but what happens with just the minimal required crew and a bit of the electroniky rigging goeas wrong in bad weather? You've got enough spare sail to carry on once you've got the broken bit tethered???

    Dust masks. Do you shave?

Since I do have a full beard I found that a bit of lip salve or vaseline on the 'tache makes a diving mask seal, so I suppose covering your beard in vaseline would make the likes of an FFP3 seal too? :) No smoking though.

    Lets talk hedge trimmers.

I've had a Stihl Kombi KM130R since I think 2007? Strimmer, hedge cutter, small chainsaw, extensions and the best bit is the leaf blower :) It's a four stroke engine running two stroke fuel and doesn't smoke like I used to think 2 strokes had to? Flipping awesome thing, but pricey.

    Water pistol recommendations

We have the odd Golden and sometimes a Sea eagle, a fake owl and an air gun and still have starlings, too many geese, pigeons and rabbits. The pigeons keep off the roof of a shed since I put one of those ultrasonic doobries inside. Only two boy rabbits at the moment though so they get left alone...

    More price increases

Looking in the local Tescos and Coop you cannot buy a cordial or soft drink that doesn't have either sucralose or aspartane. Wikipedia says aspartane is one of the most tested foods, and that it and sucralose are totally safe. Yet there are plenty of people badly affected by both. Low or no...

    More price increases

Further from what I said earlier about shipping costs from China, that also means that the cost of buying a shipping ontainer has almost doubled too.
