    Self employment

Find your niche. The majority my customers see previous work I have done and want something similar, rarely do the think outside the box and come to me wanting something completely different to the work I have done.

    Damaged Welsh Dresser

Would it be worth putting a clamp across it to help encourage it back into place, tightening as the days go by? - an idea rather than a suggestion

Cup ring on newly applied Osmo finished oak worktop

Thanks, sanded it back a little further and reapplied the Osmo, hopefully that will have fixed it (if it doesn’t just go with time anyway)

Hi All, I have recently finished an oak worktop with Osmo Polyx oil After only a few days I have marked the worktop with cups / mugs leaving behind some clear rings I have tried to lightly sand the area and re-apply oil but with no joy, the rings just show up again. Unfortunately the area...

    Keter workbench for woodworking

What about an original workmate, the old, strong & heavy ones. Yeah it’s not going to be perfect for hand tools but if you want something for £50 that you can just get using it could be a good option. When you outgrow it and want a propper bench then you can easily move it on for the price you paid.

Anyone put OSB through a thicknesser ?

If it were me I would just give it a go on a narrow section. I would think it would be more than ok and the worst that can happen is you blunt your tired knives. if the glue gunks your blades up you could try cleaning them with ipa / brake cleaner Would be interested to see the results :)

Edgebanding ply doors to increase size

I have had some furniture cnc routered in 15mm birch ply, cut using a 3.175 router cutter. I was originally going to cut some doors & drawer fronts on my table saw but wondering if the blanks that came from the cutouts would be useful. The blanks are too small as they are but I am wondering...

Reusing wood from old antique furniture?

I don’t think there is one answer to this and it’s really down to you. would you rather some one else enjoy the furniture or would you rather keep the wood and turn it into something for yourself. To any one else it’s just furniture but perhaps to you there are memories that can be best kept by...
