3 phase in new workshop - advise needed

I’m moving workshop in the new year and plan on getting some new machinery. It would look like it has 3 phase up to the meter. (3 x 415v 60A fuses) my question is how viable is it to fit 3 phase sockets? What would be involved for an electrician? The photos I got today are rubbish but should...

What to do with some Corian / HiMacs worktop?

Thanks for the ideas so far. It’s not really my style for furniture so thinking it would be best kept in the workshop and out of the house!

What to do with some Corian / HiMacs worktop?

Should add, I have all the ‘usual’ workshop tools and a large CNC router on order, so can take on most projects.

What to do with some Corian / HiMacs worktop?

I have a piece of HiMacs worktop leftover from a project, approx 1600 x 700mm, colour black. 12mm thick, but can be laminated to ply/mdf to increase strength. I am moving workshops so it’s the perfect opportunity to use it for something. Ideas so far are a new router table… What would you do...

    Card table top

I would make a picture frame from oak, cut a rebate in it for your mdf. The benefits of this are: You don’t have to get the mdf cut perfectly square and to size You don’t have to get your mitres perfect either Glue-up will be dead simple aa everything is self jigging The glue joints will be...

How can I improve the cut ?

Bending wood for rocking horse restoration

Could the dowel holes be plugged whilst steaming to reduce risk of breakage around that area?
  16. Simon89

    What diameter & length dowel?

I would counterbore 10mm holes in the green bits and screw into your vertical pieces with 3.5mm screws. Once assembled plug your 10mm holes with dowels and sand flat. Quick. Easy repeat setup. Strong.

Handheld vertical drilling - Jig, press or other?

    I would use a router & jig

Proof that end grain joints are stronger than side-grain joints

Admittedly I didn’t watch the whole video, I slipped through as I think I have seen it before… but when he states that “end grain joints are twice as strong as side grain joints”, Doesn’t he actually mean “end grain joints are twice as strong as side grain”. As the glue used is clearly...
