    GRP flat roof problem.

There is a parapet wall about 1 foot high around the 3 sides not attached and there seems to be several small fold/bends where the GRP finishes about 6" up the parapet wall about a foot out from one corner. There has been a leak before we bought the place and that was repaired. If what I think...

Has anyone any idea as to the cost difference between a GRP and an EPDM roof ? A sort of ball park figure??

Just for idiots like me who had no idea what was in the wind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VMuuGCg1iE I think it explains everything, if you can speak double Dutch? Or whatever

    GRP flat roof problem.

"Am I misunderstanding here. The guy that messed up a grp roof you are now using to put down epdm?" Not in my wildest dream MTWT ! We are getting the job done by a roofer recommended by the people who are designing the bedroom for us. The boss of that company has a superb reputation and he...

    GRP flat roof problem.

Ta for your reply Mike. It has been a long and stressful journey over the past almost 2 years. Getting into this place after a double move from France to rented to here. I will be fascinated to see just what the idea is with this membrane and how it will be 'installed'? We are also getting the...

    GRP flat roof problem.

We have just moved in to a 'new to us' bungalow. It had a kitchen extension built about 4 years back with a GRP flat roof and a lantern window in it. Since moving in we have noticed some evidence of at least 1 leak and were told of another that had been fixed. After a lot of tries on the phone I...

Money for nothing or what a load of bo***cks

What's wrong with a gaudy painted bit of sh!te of a chair with 3 legs painted one colour and one different? Classy or wot :deer Then ask 5 times the price anyone with too much money would pay and then getting it. BUT, you will have to get yourself a shiny brown leather pinny before you start...

    What's under your lathe?

what's under mine? I have an idea that half of the rubbish from our house move, but I don't really know as I can only see a tiny bit of it   I think that the bed bars are there. Still, the concrete slab for my new workshop goes down the end of this month and the shed goes up mid...

    Record CL1 36 x 15 Manual

If you go for the 3ø option I'm sure that you will not regret it. It totally transformed my CL1, as I have said many times, and it is a very good machine. I have to admit that I have not had any experience of the more expensive machines, but the fact that I have been happy with mine for the last...

Anyone replaced the hard drive in an iMac ?

I had meant to ask just what year it is too Rodger? Ours is a mid 2009 and I have upgraded it to High Sierra Os 10.13.6 That's an easy job too and it gives you the max in security. I am a member of https://www.mac-forums.com/forums/index.php and they are very good and really helpful on all...

Anyone replaced the hard drive in an iMac ?

It's a doddle to replace an HDD in an iMac, also to upgrade the memory. I now have a SSHD (hybrid) drive in my late 2009 21 1/2" jobbie along with 8 gig of memory. It was a little daunting to start but it is easy to do. There are lots of youtube videos on how to do it. Mine has now gone from a 2...

    Varnishing/sealing a sanded plank floor?

Albatros, I believe that the one arriving tomorrow is one of the casterated  type as in the instructions it tells you to lift and gently lower it? I will see? I still like the oils and have used them in a lot of situations although not on this scale? I like the idea of the oil and...

    Varnishing/sealing a sanded plank floor?

The problem with the sand glider is it's over twice the price!! All ordered now and being delivered tomorrow morning floor and edge sander. I have an interesting couple of hours making sure there were no nail heads sticking proud today. I shall go to sleep hearing 'BANG BANG' I'm just wondering...

    Varnishing/sealing a sanded plank floor?

We have now started the move into our new, to us, bungalow. My first job is to sand and seal the lounge/diner and 2 bedrooms, about 60 sq M in all. I will be hiring a floor sander/edge sander combo, but I am not sure what is the best way to seal or varnish it afterwards? In France I could buy a...

    Turning between centres

Blimey Phil, if those drives are any good they are really good value! Welcome to the slippery slope Watchman. If you only have 1/2 the enjoyment that I have had turning then I will have had twice yours and yours will be LOTS! I can't wait to get back on my lathe, a CL1 with a 3ø motor on it...

Tuffsaws got my order wrong. (JOKE)

Naaaa. I wouldn't want one of those. It would be too noisy in the back garden. Quite impressive though and that blade is a bit bigger than my 1/4" 6 skip!

More grunt from kids ride on toy

Well, this is the motor you seem to have in there and it does go up to 24v. https://www.amazon.co.uk/RS-550s-18v-El ... B00TE42PME And I have one similar that I have just taken out of a 2 metre electric powered glider weighing in at about 16oz because it was gutless. It was running on on...

    An Inside Out Xmas Ornament

Sploo, that is a very nice bit of turning. Good on ya mate! I have turned 3 insideouts. The first was a 4 bit, the second a 3 and for the third I went mad and did an 8! That really was fun. I went for the 8 so as to keep the cutting angles simple? Well, that was the principle anyway. I wasn't...

How toxic is wood when dry

I think that is exactly the problem Phil. Wet wood, the dust is wet and heavier. Therefore it will fall to the floor quicker since Newton invented gravity :? Dry wood is lighter and the dust will float in the air longer. If not then I stand to be corrected, but it does seem logical to me?
