    Tips & Tricks

You got it in one R. But I have what the French call a 'coin' which is similar to one of your wedges that turns as you belt it in. Very efficient too. This is one of them https://www.amazon.fr/Fiskars-%C3%A9cla ... in+de+bois Once I get me head straight after our move back to the U.K. I will...

    Butter

I do believe that you will find that not of all any countries butter is bland just as not all is good. But as they say "generalisations are always wrong". I once heard say, on a Radio 4 programme that the speaker knew why Siansbury's existed, that it was to keep the riff raff out of Waitrose...

    Butter

For those in peril on the sourdough, have you seen this book? Do/Sourdough?Slow bread for busy lives by Andrew Whitley. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Do-Sourdough-B ... 079&sr=8-1 It SWMBO's bible on the making of it and it seems to work.

    Butter

Waitrose sell a raw milk butter. I haven't had any of that since lunch time today, along with rye sourdough bread made by SWMBO. Wonderful stuff and we tend to get through a LOT of the butter. I love the French goats butter they sell to, along with the sheeps butter. All good stuff and very...

    VAWTs and workshop heating

+1 for that, it ain't going to cost you a lot is it? If you paint the back of the panel black that should help too. If you did the removal from several adjacent 'tubes' then you would get a better circulation me-thinks? Don't forget to seal the ends though  This is the tube array...

    VAWTs and workshop heating

I forgot to add that we, in our new home, have 120 47mm tubes in the back garden to heat a 300 ltr heat store tank. Not my instalation but the previous owners. Shame the bleedin stuff don't work, but that is because of the cowboy installers from wht I can make out. We had 50 tubes in our Franch...

    Bargain.

Wheely Bytone, that is an abrasive comment. I wouldn't like it as I prefer hand sharpening, but I could well convert my Startrite 301s into a desk light. :? :?

    Wedding Anniversaries.

The last day of Feb is our 5 3/4 wedding anniversary, so we will celibrate that today with a nice lunch or dinner out in a local pub. But, the following morning I think to myself that it was the day after the 28th we were married, so we have to go out for another nice lunch or dinner in a...

    Mattresses

21st December we had a new mattress delivered from Bensons and as soon as it came out of the bag SWMBO started to feel a burning and tingling sensation in her mouth. It had to be the chemicals used in it. I believe that she is very sensitive to the fire retardant used. We put up with it for a...

Jet AFS-1000 air filter for sale. Not any more..

I have just moved house and now have a smaller workshop. So my faithful ceiling hung Jet AFS-1000 has nowhere to hang :( . It has worked faultlessly for the 10 years or so I have had it and there have not been any problems with it. It is the model that came with the white primary filter...
