    pricing and quotes

Just to let you all know, I gave the quote of 5750€ and now they would like a quote for the units included as well. So without getting too excited it seems they're ok with it. Now I need to find a place that does 800 high base units, as I mentioned before, not easy here in August. Thanks again...

Ahhh! No I hadn't thought of that, well spotted. That's the type of thing I feel I need to have a good buffer on the price I quote. It's not exactly a straightforward fit. Many may see it as that but they probably have a lot more experience than me.

This one of my concerns about this job, I´ll add a foto of the material they want to use as the doors etc. to me it looks like shuttering ply? I don´t have that much experience with different grade plywood. more photos can be seen here http://www.flexoarquitectura.com/index. ... ina-palma/...

You must work very long days! There's a couple of things I would change in that breakdown First point I gave 1.5 days as I would sand faces and knock off arrises. Then two days at least for finishing. The rest of the points are all very optimistic imo. I not fast but I am time efficient. Also I...

    pricing and quotes

That's really helpful Tom. They don't offer you tea or coffee here on Spain! So I can deduct that lol. Do you think at a glance (imagine you were the client) this price is ok?

5u That's sounds kinda extreme. This job is for an architect firm. It's not a case of asking what's your budget, they tell me what they want, exactly. That's what i need to price, can anyone give a too high or to low comment on the price 5750€

    pricing and quotes

Thanks Bob, that was quite helpful. What I mean by the comment about itemising everything down to the smallest item is I was trying to keep prices as low as possible resulting in prices way too low for a normal profit. Now what I try to do is stand back and see the job as a whole as well as...

It's a dry fit. Just what I mentioned in the op. I will have the ply cut to size from my supplier, then I'll use my own saw (Makita flip saw) to rip the bevel. I've got a spray gun and compressor, but no spray booth. I was actually going to use Dulux diamond glaze and that doesn't spray well...

    pricing and quotes

Ok, I´ve been scribbling down lots of numbers trying to feel more at ease with the prices. What I would like to do is post the plans of the kitchen, describe the job and ask you gentlemen or ladies perhaps if you think my quote is reasonable. The work involves, Knocking up Ikea carcases (happy...

    pricing and quotes

Firstly, thank you all for the replies. This is what i used to do, and I was doing things way too cheap (for my liking!) How much you want, how much you think you deserve, how much value are you adding to someone's life, how much, how much, how much! That's what just drives me mad! Anyway on...

    pricing and quotes

Hi all, I'm suprised there isn't a section in forums for asking opinions on pricing and quotes. For me, it is definitely the hardest part of the job. Recently I made a pair of balcony doors, I had the figure of 700€ in mind. Then I asked a carpenter I was working with how much he would charge...

    Exterior Pine Door Design Advice

I mean the same thickness as the door stiles, so the face is flat. Not the same thickness as the main door frame. Would that be too heavy? This was one of my initial thoughts on how to do it. I like barkwindjammer´s idea The door opening is around 40cm deep so the top of the door would be ok...

    Exterior Pine Door Design Advice

Hi everyone, I´ve always wanted to join a woodworking forum, so nice to meet you all. I have an exterior Pine door to make (front door of a house) and frame The Architect says the client wants solid pine. The top of the opening is arched. The design they want is simple, normal frame shaped to...
