    I got the lighter ali clamps from Rutlands sometime back, only any good for very light work, one broke after about 2 years and one on the way out now. Record steel clamps i"ve had since the end of my apprenticeship in 1970 still good and used all the time

    I will never buy from Amazon again, over a year ago had to send an item back not working to a shop in Poland I was told by Amazon I would get a full refund inc., return postage if it was sent insured and signed for cost £11.86. Got the item refund after 2 weeks but not the postage after 6 weeks...

    Apprenticeships

    Yes it was 5 years but under pressure for uk gov. was cut to 4 in about 1964/5 but better firms make you do a year probation before signing so back to 5 years. Kids in our year group had factory type joinery jobs and yes had no interest.

    I've used a product called timbertec from ccc ltd in cumbria expensive but I finished a wooden sink with this 2 year ago still looks great and customer very happy, also used on a few table tops you will not get cup ring marks no matter how long the wet ring is on the top

    yes still turning but like some have said it gets to a point the family say no more, do give some bits to charity raffles and auctions. I do find it a good way to unwind

    I.Sorby very fine chisel, Mr Punch NOW SOLD thank you

    I.Sorby wood chisel never seen one so fine the blade is 1/16'' wide going to 3/32'' at the handle end of the blade, not sure how old this is I've had it since the late 60s. It's in very good condition with the Mr Punch mark and name moulded in to the blade Will keep on here for a week or so...
