    Axminster Professional AP254SB Saw Bench

Looking at the website and some of their other machinery it seems that the workshop range might be the new name for the craft range ? Gets a bit confusing. They've had many different names over the years for the lower price bracket machinery.

    Axminster Professional AP254SB Saw Bench

According to this The AP254SB is the pro range...... https://www.axminstertools.com/axminster-professional-ap254sb-table-saw-108516 I see they do a 'workshop range too' Interesting to see they have dropped the cheaper 'craft' line. Probably a good move, as their lower end machines, like most of...

    Clamp identification

Very similar to the clamps that come with the vintage knitting machines ! Not sure about the cut-out on the corners though. Havent seen any with round bar. Nearest thing would be fence clamps: https://www.axminstertools.com/ujk-technology-universal-fence-clamps-pair-502711

    Axminster Table Saw Flatness

Axminster dont want bad press or unhappy customers so I guess they'll put things right but it's still a hassle and just reinforces my disdain for all this far eastern machinery we're bombarded with. I often visit a large auctioneers in Devon and the amount of Axminster returns they deal with is...

    Good find

Nice..... ! love a bit of reclaimed wood. The older stuff is often much nicer than new. Local auction houses are a really good source for quality hardwood. I often buy old oak furniture for literally a few quid

    Router bits, which makes?

Another vote for Infinity cutters here. USA based but have a UK outlet. They dont always have a full stock but service is usually very quick with in-stock items

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Some BP stuff The picture frames are tricky to join in this fashion. Traditional framers wedges will just split the layers. I used a Hoffman dovetailer and the larger frames were also reinforced with splines

A very slow Fobco Star refurbishment

Just joined up here and picked up on this thread. Have recently revived a very grubby Fobco Star. It was mainly a cosmetic restoration and I was in the same dilemma over colour. I went for a turquoise and thought it was a bit overpowering at first, but when the steel parts were brightened up I...

    Vintage Myford Planer

Thanks for the input Phill. Seller is saying bearings and all are good. Never owned a planer or thicknesser. Are blades available for the Myford ? Asking price is £165. I just detest buying the new chinese tat that's everywhere.

    Vintage Myford Planer

Anyone have any experience with this Myford jointer ? It's for sale local to me. Always drawn to the old-school cast iron machinery and need something small like this for the limited space I have.....

New around here - tool collector / restorer - woodworker

Yes something like that. To use in a tight corner. There was no makers name on the brace but I was reliably informed it was most likely made by John S Fray, who interestingly was born near to me in Camborne down here in Cornwall. He moved to the states and started a tool company which was later...
