    Could you phone the local council tree blokes....they may even drop it off for you...explain what you want and need it for...usually quite helpful...it’s a shame you a tad distant.... I move ash Logs twice a week...even split not quarters...I volunteer at Arnos vale cemetery clearing the ash die...

    That looks similar to mine...I think the tailstock location pad needs a few thou taken off the offending side....in my case to the front edge. As long as it’s pulled forward to locate on lathe bed I think it will be ok. If not I could always add a thin strip on the rear side to compensate...bit...

    Hi Paul... would be interesting to see what you find...try loading a drill chuck and centre a 10” cylinder......mine seems to get worse over the bed length. It could be the headstock needs mo no a tad as well
