    Hello all....I thought I would highlight the use of chopped logs ...I found a lovely piece of hawthorn and sycamore thought I would have a go on the lathe. I have made others and people love them... It maybe said.....to Turn or Burn ?....that is the question..! Steve

    Hello there... I still have mine. The skilled mans gold dust.i served mine in precision engineering....aircraft fuel pumps etc...served time 1971/76....gained full tech certificate in production engineering...there must be others out there with indentures...,,ps they were on parchment...

    Champion pillar drill painting

    Thanks for the reply.... I have looked at the Paragon machine colours range....very nice too. It’s just a shame they don’t do 500ml tins...I don’t fancy wasting loads of paint. The drill is not very big.....but being ex RR engineer I find it interesting.... Steve

    Good evening I have just received an old champion no2 pillar drill....it really needs a clean up and paint... I am wondering if I should or could paint it with smooth black hammerite.... It is the old grey colour and I think it’s been washed over with some sort of other grey... Any ideas would...

    Chuck running out

    Thanks Duncan...I think I may try making a washer up with a register running true....but as you say a bit of runout is not the end of the world..as long as I have something to grip and turn safely.....result! I’ve not done too bad Upto now.....hehe
