    To be fair I'd expect boards like that in 1-4 (Scandinavian) Unsorted Redwood. There are some Scandinavian mills that do grade 1-3 only.

    I work in the timber industry and to give you some ideas the price of CLS has risen over 170% in two years, joinery Redwood you're looking at an increase of approximately £140m3 for the third quarter (July to September) with further increases likely in the fourth quarter of this year.

    A FD30 and FD60 doors are completely different animals, you can't make a FD30 perform as a FD60 by adding seals.

    As far as I'm aware no FD60 frame should be made from softwood. If you ever come across any in service I'd implore you to raise the concern with the relevant person to investigate if softwood meets the requirements of the fire door certificate.
