Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

Cheers Muggins. My shop is 4.7m x 8m so I believe it will work. I will centre the blade on double doors on the long side to allow for longer cross cuts. I haven't seen much out there at the moment. I've started to look at the minimax cu300 classic as an option as well. I wonder if this matches...

Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

If I saw a design for a working dust extraction arrangement, that didn't require a NASA shuttle team to build, I'd keep the SCMS for sure.

Looks very interesting. And very useful I suspect.

Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

I'm focusing on the dust in the workshop at the moment and my mitre saw is the biggest culprit by a distance. I'm thinking of selling it off once I get a combination machine. Am I correct in assuming any task the mitre saw can be replicated on the format section of the Felder or hammer (or even...

Thanks David. All this info and experience is most useful. I'm in no rush to purchase so I will keep my eyes open.

Cheers for the heads up. I've definitely seen those pics before as well. Same story also. Hard to believe that there are so many bids for this machine as well.

Yep, I'm sure I'd consider the cf531 as well. Just flicking through some images on line of the cf531 and some have green livery and some have orange. What's the reason for this I wonder?

Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

I've started trawling machine sites in Europe and I began to find a few fairly reasonable prices for used models. There has been an unfortunate side effect - I've begun to lust for a Felder cf731 over the Hammer C331. This could end very poorly for the wallet/pension/childs college fund etc...

Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

I've come across a number of Felder machines for sale on Craig's list, London. The prices are more than reasonable and I can't help but smell a rat. Has anyone any idea what could be going on?

    Hammer C3 -31 combination machine

I'm currently in the market for a Hammer or Felder combination as well. I've had a close look at the hammer c3-31 and generally it looks excellent, especially with the 2m slider in the comfort model. How ever I found the fence to be rather light with significant deflection when tested at the...

Used Felder or Hammer Combination machine

I'm currently in the market for a Felder or Hammer combination machine and prices for a new purchase fairly knocked me off my socks. I've been looking at used machines and there is a dramatic reduction for machines that are only 2 or 3 years old. Is there anything major I should be looking for...

    Online video, cabinet making, 1970's

I just re-found this on you-tube today. Search for the following; Hands Cavan cabinet maker part 1 'Hands' was the name of an excellent tv record of various crafts in Ireland made in the 70's. Cabinet making, coopers, candle makers, stone masons - it's a real treat if you're interested in the...

stable woods to make jigs from? Especially slides?

Phenol coated ply used for formwork is very good for jigs. The ply quality can be top grade and the phenol coating is nice and slippy.

Which type of clamp would be your go to?

Why don't people use pipe clamps much on this side of the water - Pony Clamps for example. They always struck me as a good value alternative to the record t-bar clamps with some added flexibility by being able to change the pipe lengths.

Best Dust/Chip extractors for small workshop - Advice Please

An important concept to consider is that motors push air out thru the filter rather than pull air thru the ducting - the resulting vacuum takes care of this. This is important as, because of this, a finer filter will reduce airflow - it takes more pushing to get air thru the finer filter. Added...

    Best extractor?

Excellent post Beech1948, this issue continues to bother me as the quality of machinery available for this work is very poor. For the hell of it I did about an hour online one evening, imagining an unlimited budget, and failed to find anything of consequence. I was hoping for a cyclone where...
