    router table

Also, with the split fence you can stick two washers behind the left hand slider to bring it out 1mm and the router table can be used as a jointer.

    router table

Some pictures of the fence. These are the bits I used. The router insert plate comes up cheap on eBay often. Hope this helps. T-Track - https://www.axminster.co.uk/ujk-technol ... k-ax889077 Vertical feather boards - https://www.axminster.co.uk/ujk-technol ... air-502751 Horizontal feather...

    router table

Absolutely right. Cheap and cheerful. As I said, I used a kitchen worktop with a makeshift aluminium plate as router insert plate before I made this router table. I use this as a "take away" router table with a small 1/4 router underneath. No fence, just relying on bearing guided cutters. It's...

    Dovetail Router bit

I bought some guided bearing dovetail cutters from China a while back. They were only about £3 each. I used to use the SIP cutters but the bearings collapse very quickly especially on their own jig with aluminium comb. The Chinese ones seem a lot better and cheaper. Also have one router...

    Hello I'm new

Thanks for the warm welcome and comments all. Bob, I totally agree with you regarding painting over the dovetails. I'd like to see the dovetails. Not all boxes are painted though. Maybe 60% of them. And yes, they're done with a router on a jig so not true dovetails just half blind. I try...

    router table

Yeah no problem. I'll snap some tomorrow. The fence and dust port are made from MDF and the front is melamine. It runs on two UJK T-tracks bought from Axminster. The bolts were spare ones that came with the feather boards, also from Axminster. I'd like to add some sort of rulers to the table...

    Forum Users Router Tables

I made my first router table about 4 years ago. Plenty of router bit storage so I can keep on buying new router bits. It houses my handheld routers in the bottom and it moves around on 6 casters. It's in use almost every day and the Triton TRA001 cuts whatever I throw at it. I was toying...

    Dust extractor buying advice please.

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new dust extractor to couple up to my handheld sanders and bobbin sander. I previously used one of these (https://www.sipuk.co.uk/sip-dust-chip-collector.html) powerful but very loud indeed so I'm looking for something quieter. I already have a 1hp Clarke...

    router with dovetail jig

I have 3 dedicated routers for my 3 different dovetail jigs. Nothing special but they're permanently setup so no downtime setting depth every time. I would look for a router with a on/off switch that stays in place rather than having to keep the button depressed. Not sure if this will help...

Which Router for a Homemade Router Table

I also have the Triton TRA001 fitted in my router table. Plenty powerful enough. I had a MOF001 before which went up in flames after 6 months but Triton just offered a replacement and the option to pay the difference to upgrade to the TRA001 which I did.

bench saw riving knife and guard

I've never used the guard on my Scheppach TS30. The riving knife is still in place. I have a 1hp dust extractor just for the table saw and even without the guard the table is pretty much clear all the time.

    And.......here's one I made earlier.

    Wow, that's some fantastic dovetailing.

    Hello I'm new

Hi all, Just signed up to this forum in the hope to learn something from the pro's. I have no woodworking background but started making bits and bobs out of pine about 6 years ago and so far enjoying it. Mainly making personalised toy chests and kitchen shelf units at the moment as the...

    router table

Hi Alan, I'd recommend building your own table as mentioned above. I started out with a cheap half inch router and cut a makeshift aluminium router insert plate into some kitchen worktop and used that for a while. About 4 years ago I bought a half inch Triton TRA001 router (very impressive and...
