New table saw on a budget buying advice please...

Cheers for that. I was just wondering as it's half the hp but a smaller blade might make the difference. I have a 12" 3hp saw now but the blade is only raised one third of the max depth of cut so a bit of overkill really. I have been told that the W629 is a more sturdy machine compared to the...

New table saw on a budget buying advice please...

Hi all, Looking to replace my Scheppach TS30 for something with a cast iron top and smaller blade diameter. I've been speaking to Ian at Poolewood and he recommended a Charnwood W619 or a W629. Both similar machines by the looks of it apart from one is 8" and the other 10" and 1.5hp and the...

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Thanks for that info. If it decides to go again over the next few months I'll get one of those. At the moment it is fixed and working so hopefully it'll tie me over Christmas so I can upgrade.

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Hi Bob, It has more wires than a normal NVR and looks a little more complicated. As you said it does have a capacitor. I think that's for the slow start as it doesn't have an electric brake. A friend of mine has replaced the coil inside the switch and it's all working again now. I'm thinking...

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Well, the switch has given up on me today along with sparks flying out of the bottom. Pooleworld can get one for £81.00 +VAT which seems steep still and really not wanting to spend that much on a switch. Charnwood has them priced at 25.00 but none in stock and they don't know when they're...

the latest aldi circular saw with laser?

I do buy some Parkside Lidl stuff as we shop there often, sometimes Aldi too but tend to steer away from anything that has a blade in it that spins at high speed. It just scares me. I've got a Parkside nail/staple gun which looks the same as my Clarke one but in green. Also bought the drill...

    Anyone ever soundproofed a door?

I've got a 17U 19" rack with several servers, switches etc and moved it up into the attic. It's just whirring away up there and can't be heard.

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Cheers Bob, The current switch is all one part. I've taken the yellow dust boot off and to have a look but it's all one. I'll go with the 16A one on eBay that's enclosed and stocked in the UK. I can't afford to wait 3 weeks for a switch to arrive from China in case this one packs up...

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Not trying to sound thick Bob but I can't see the link to the Amazon link. I did find this one which is UK based as I discovered the other one is in China. Do you think this will work? It says 16A https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/On-off-switc ... xybqpRg5Hc

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

Thanks for the replies. I have just removed the switch assembly and the saw is definitely 13A. There's a Euro plug to UK plug extension that goes into the bottom of the switch presumably because Scheppach is German? Will the switch on eBay (link in my earlier post) do? It's says 19A but I'm...

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

I did Tom. Switch doesn't look like the regular NVR though. I'll take a picture of mine Monday and see if that helps.

Dust extraction on handheld router advice?

I'll have a look and see if I can find some decent images of the thing to see if I can modify it rather than buying one first and finding out I can't do anything with it. Thans for your help Red

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

FFX, where I bought this from quoted me £111 + VAT for a replacement switch today.... Looking on eBay for no volt release switches I found this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NVR-Stop-Sta ... 1438.l2649 Will that do? I really don't want to be spending too much on this saw as I'd like to upgrade...

Dust extraction on handheld router advice?

Looks impressive. I wonder how effective it is without the boot that hangs underneath as that would catch on the dovetail jig I assume?

Replacement on/off switch for Scheppach TS30

My table saw didn't start this afternoon and after that it was intermittent so my first thought was the NVR switch but can I buggery find one online. I know it's not a very liked saw on here but as space is limited I had to buy this a few years back. Scheppach spares site sends you round in...

You'll not regret it. I've got the TRA001 and if your budget can stretch a little more go for that one.

Dust extraction on handheld router advice?

Cheers guys. I've started to make some sort of dust hood. It's not very pretty but I need to make sure it'll work first and then make something better up. Still needs a panel on the top. Really should've put the white side to the inside as the dust gathers and doesn't always slide down to...

Dust extraction on handheld router advice?

Cheers Matt, I do use it regular this time a year as I make quite a few kids personalised toy boxes for Christmas. I'll have a look at making some sort of hood but thought there would be something simpler. I guess it's the same pain as using dust extraction on a lathe.

    Router for table

I'd really would look for a 1/2 inch router if you're using it in a table. I think the Bosch POE only takes 6mm bits? Have a look at Triton if you want a table mounted router.
