    Router depth

Or bearings that collapse and start spitting metal balls at silly speeds....

    Triton tools

Contact details: Dennis https://www.tritontools.uk.com 01449 781761 He'll be able to hook you up with a router for the table. I think I have seen the Triton bundle. About 700 quid? Personally I wouldn't be able to work with one of those work centre things on a daily basis.

    Triton tools

I can only vouch for the Triton Routers. I had a MOF001 and now a TRA001. The TRA001 has been absolutely brilliant over the last 4 years or so. Everything else mostly handheld I use Makita. Never seem to have many problems with them. Have a word with Dennis Leverage. He used to be the main...

    Router Bits

I think the removable inserts are the best thing about router insert plates. They allow the use of bits from small to large with a safe amount of clearance around the cutters. I think back in the day the main feature was to remove the router with the insert plate to make life easier changing...

    Router Bits

Good point. This could turn out dangerous if it does decide to shatter when the router is running at whatever silly speed... Might be safer to use some ply. I think I still have my homemade router insert plate I made out of aluminium somewhere. You can have that if I can find it.

    Router Bits

I have a router table that I use everyday but when I need to do small jobs elsewhere I have got a piece of melamine in which I have placed some 6 or 9mm ply to attach one of my 1/4 routers in. Just clamp it on a workmate so the router does in between the two table tops. Another solution is to...

    Bandsaw set up.

I only have a small 190 bandsaw but have set it up like above video this morning and it feels better then how I set it up previous so I'm happy.

    WHICH POCKET HOLE JIG

I agree on that Mike but these are underneath the toy box so not being seen and they serve a purpose. I do have a biscuit jointer and a router table but to be honest I rarely use the biscuit jointer. I do however, use dovetails one every box, painted or not. Not sure if I can explain this...

    WHICH POCKET HOLE JIG

I've got the Wolffcraft one and it has been fine for the last 6 years or so. Only 30 odd quid too. I use it on the underside of toy boxes to secure the bottom plinth to the box so there's no visible fixings.

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Definitely no hooks on mine. There is a lip but that's just for the strap so it won't come off. I'll try the folding and the magnet method next time it needs replacing. It doesn't fill up that quick as it's only connected to the router table. There's only a quarter of a bag full since I...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Cheers for all the replies guys. Much appreciated indeed. I quite like the magnet idea and I do have a stack of small magnets. I'll definitely try the folding the bag thing. Was thinking stapling the top of the bag around the clasp but recon the staples might rip the bag at some point. I...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Thanks for that. There's me having a planer thicknesser on my list to buy. That'll just make matters worse with more frequent bag changes.

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

This might be a silly question but is there an easy way of fitting a replacement bag to these on your own? It's a Fox F50-842 but I think they are all very similar. Mine came with two cloth bags, one on top for the filtration and one underneath for collection. All works very well indeed and I'm...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

I sold my wood lathe as I needed more space in the shed and don't seem to get time to play anymore so I thought I'd make one last thing on it before it goes. A Dorito bowl out of oak. Doritos on the outside and a hole in the middle to fit a glass container for the dip.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Cheers Mike, I cheat with dovetails on the toy chests I make and cut them with a router on a jig. (half blind dovetails). Mortice and tenon I do on the table saw and mortising machine. Best get my coat...

That looks nice Ben. I've never attempted cutting dovetails by hand. I don't think I have the patience.

    Toy box/chest

Just read through the whole thing tonight. That looks superb. I wish I could use hand tools like that. Well done.

New table saw on a budget buying advice please...

Cheers Mike, I'll have a look at the Axminster one as well. I do have a few months to think about it which is good.

New table saw on a budget buying advice please...

I'll do some research at my dinner break tomorrow as it does look similar to the Charnwood. I think they all do to be honest.

New table saw on a budget buying advice please...

I've seen that one yes. It needs to be pretty accurate (fence to blade) I don't think I'll use the table much as I don't with my current saw. The sliding carriage is cast iron on the Charnwood so might slide better than on my monkey metal rail? Is the sliding carriage cast on the Draper too?
