    Axminster TS250-2 modifications.

Ive not seen the package deal. I think it was about £680 with the extension and slider. With a bit of luck the TS250 will still be in stock with the sliding table and extension table. Probably get some legs until I make some suitable base to sit it on.

    Axminster TS250-2 modifications.

I think you're right Mike. Luckily I have to wait till after Christmas for the table saw purchase. Need to pay off next years holiday and this years Christmas apparently.... :ho2 :deer I can't see an extended table option on the new 216 though? I could actually get away with a 210 blade. I...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Very nice looking desk indeed. I really need to pull my finger out and make myself one once I get some time.

It's the AC216TS in the catalogue. The TS250 is not in there though.

    Axminster TS250-2 modifications.

I've been following this closely as I'm after a TS250 after Christmas. I have just received the Axi catalogue through the post yesterday and it does look like the TS250 is not in the lineup no more. What I can't find out is the width of cut from the fence on the new one in the catalogue. I...

    Mitre saw advice

I have the Makita LS1018L. The blade brake failed (intermittently) after a few months. Been back to Makita service centre Milton Keynes twice now and it's still not working right. I had a LS1040 before this with the same problem. Cuts are accurate and build quality is good. In use daily and...

    Dovetail guide

Cheers Mike. I'll have a look at that after tea. I might go for a second hand one instead. My current ones will get me through Christmas even though it's super mad at the moment. The spacing and the true dovetails is the main thing I like about the Leigh. Mine just cuts half blind at 12.7 and...

    Dovetail guide

I've had a look at the Leigh jig and it looks good. What material are the fingers on the jig made out off? A bit more money than I can afford at the moment. 24" comes in just under 500 quid. I'd like the quick clamp one rather than the turning knob one. Not many on the bay at the moment.

    Dovetail guide

Mike, do you use these with bearing guided cutters or guide bushes? I have a 600 wide Axminster jig, the old blue one quick clamp with red plastic comb and yellow guides which I use near enough daily. A 600 wide Elu knob clamping one and a SIP 300 wide one with aluminium comb which reduces the...

    Woodworking Jobs

I worked for Apple BeNeLux for years, moved to the UK in 2000 and set my own independent Apple service centre up. After so many years I grew tired of it and IT nowadays is so easy 16 year old kids can do it without training. I build a small shed out of breeze blocks ears ago (intended to house...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Mine doesn't live in the workshop (Shed). It's got it's own little home outside saving some pennies on buying the expensive filter. And there's no room for it inside the shed... I do suggest using plastic bags rather than the supplied cloth bag. No messing about emptying the cloth bag. Just...

Confused by makita router products codes

As Mike said a few posts back, safest is to use a router in a table. I have a 1/2 inch router in a table that get's used daily. I have four 1/4 inch routers which I use handheld. One daily on a dovetail jig and the rest don't get used often at all. Looking at the Makita cordless router just as...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Well, the magnet method seems to work very well indeed! Cable ties done the job of tying it all up. Cheers for the tips.

Confused by makita router products codes

I'm also looking at investing in the Makita cordless router. I think the 6Ah batteries last a fair amount of time. I have plenty of corded routers to use in the workshop.
