    Bought another geetar!!

Reprogramming eh ! never heard it called that before. The stuff people come up with these days !! I suppose you could stand the guitar on a stool and crack a whip at it to retrain it. In the meantime humidifying it might help. Cheers Andrew

    Bought another geetar!!

You could try putting the guitar in a plastic case, with a zip lok bag with a moist (not wet ) cloth or kitchen sponge in it but the bag should be left open to let the moisture get to the wood. See how the sunken top reacts after a week, it may well come up if the sinking was caused by too dry...

Is there any trick to make unscrewing easier from old wood?

Try heating the screws with a big soldering iron (80watts +) That sometimes works to break the bond. Cheers Andrew Duh Just noticed someone with an organ posted this, but anyway it usually works. It just needs to be done a few times and spritzing with a freeze spray as well helps.

    Guitar Two...

I'm sure you could find some engineering bolts with the correct thread and cut them down to size, they would be a very good quality steel. You could maybe use stainless steel which of the right grade is much harder than brass and won't rust. Gibson wood over the years has been all over the...

    Guitar Two...

The American made bridges from WD use the Gibson bridges with the writing ground of before plating (you can just see the shadow of the writing if held against a bright light) I'll assume that Philly Luthier use the same manufacturer. The Faber bridges from Germany are quite good. Cheers Andrew

    Guitar Two...

Most of the tone pros stuff is rebadged gotoh parts, the bridge is a Gotoh bridge with a couple of grub/allen screws threaded to fix the bridge onto the posts, an easy conversion for someone with your obvious talents. By the way the mylespaul forum Luthier section might be a useful source of...

    Guitar Two...

Gotoh make a good quality lp bridge GE103B - G-GOTOH no saddle rattles. and also an aluminium tailpeice. All the gotoh stuff is properly made (In Japan not China) and is reasonably priced. As you are in the USA philadelphialuthier should be able to supply you with most parts. Cheers Andrew

You can run down an extra height adjuster on the post till it's flat on the top (this will stop the threaded rod leaning) and then run another one down for height adjustment.(this is assuming you've got enough height under the bridge to fit 2 adjusters)? Cheers Andrew

Putting the cuts into the bottom of the tang forms a wider burr which helps hold the fret and also stops the fret from rocking side to side *** it's supported at the bottom and in the middle. Cheers Andrew

    Guitar Two...

An abr bridge with 6-32 or 4 mm threads will be fine. Just put a few drops of ultra thin super glue in the hole after thereading the posts and let it fully harden. That'll harden up the mahogany nicely and keep the posts securely in. By the way fret slots shouldn't be too tight. You can always...

    Maple for workbench

https://www.briley.com/c-330-probore.aspx 12 bore shotgun treatment seems to be a bit over the top for woodworm !! Or is the idea to fool any future worms into thinking the bench is already inhabited !! Cheers Andrew

Adding soft start to mitre saw

Something like this Electrical Soft Start Controller, Aluminum Bottom Single 2-Phase Soft Starter for Motor(Module) : Amazon.co.uk: Business, Industry & Science should do the trick. They are usually thermistor based and easily available in Europe although don't seem so easy to find in Blighty...

    New Planer/thicknesser

I've got an ancient emco b20 and putting a spiral cutter block turned it into a machine that pretty much planed wood to a finish. I use a lot of curly/flamed birdseye maple and other figured woods and the difference between spiral and normal cutter block is night and day. The spiral block...

    Les Paul Style Guitar Build

Patience and precision + good eyes glasses etc, a little trick I sometimes use is that I overtighten the truss rod so the neck is pulling back. If your going for the ultimate low nut cut this can sometimes get you out of trouble if you go one swipe with the nut file too many as when you release...

    Les Paul Style Guitar Build

I've been making my own pickups for about 10 years now and it's not rocket science to make them, however getting them to sound as you want them to is like making an acoustic guitar and knowing what it's going to sound like at the end, if you cna do that then buy some lottery tickets. Wiring...

    Les Paul Style Guitar Build

I use a stanley 60 1/2 block plane to do most of my radiusing and finish up with a 10" or so block with abrasive glued to it and some elbow grease. I've got some radius blocks which I sometimes use to get started but I prefer the straight block or plane (depending on the grain of the particular...
