    37mm hole?

Yes use wd40 and go slow, otherwise it will melt and grab. I you go with the router keep the speed low and feed rate high with a bit designed for acrylic and you`ll have to use several passes. I would take it to a laser cutting shop and get them to do it. Cheers Andrew

    2mm diameter drill bit bends?

As a retired guitar maker I can recommend these Proxxon 6 Piece HSS Twist Drill Set 476782 Drilling side dots is what I bought them for and they work fine. Just make sure the fb's /neck is fixed down on the drill press and you don't have a lot of run out on your drill. Clear the drill...

    Which one 352 or 352s

Go with the 352s it's got better guides. I've had a 352 (the green one in the photo) for over 40 years. It's done sterling service and needed little maintenance. But it is underpowered for it's size which is a shame. After screwing up trying to resaw a thick piece of curly maple I bit the...

    Waterstone recommendation

If your'e feeling rich the Naniwa Diamond range are really good. They grind/sharpen very quickly and leave a really good finish with little work. I just hope they last as they cost an arm and a leg, but work better than all my other diamond and normal waterstones. They are a bit of a hybrid...

    Pull-saws at lidl

Shame you've got no Aldis(hofer here in Austria) Aldi used to do a lot of Ferrex tools which are actually very good and a gift for the price. Using 40 volt batteries on the cordless stuff means it usually has enough power and has saved my back in the gardeing chores. Parkside stuff is a bit hit...

Compressor advice for a total noob

I recently got a hyundia silent with a 50 litre tank. Not too expensive and much quieter tan may old piston compressor which soundls like animal from the muppets. Don't expect the Hyundai to be silent but it is very quiet compared to the old one. Cheers Andrew

    Is this Tanin staining?

If you use titebond it reacts with iron leaving black marks. Steel sash clamps without masking tape over them are a no no for panel glue ups. Cheers Andrew

    Tips for threading

I'm not sure if i'd use blo to soak the wood as it may cause it to swell. Maybe a mix of alcohol and paste wax might work as a lubricant. I use this Buy lubricant paste Waxilit 22-30 P online at OSTERMANN stuff . It's great for all sorts of things like planer tables or on guitar...
