Photo hosting - Sony Image Station to close!

So how about Photobucket? As I post this, the Picasa image has reappeared - bizarre! edit. Picasa image still there, but if it's not reliable it's worse than nothing. Photobucket images still there tho' for self and Mrs S.

Photo hosting - Sony Image Station to close!

Neil - it was a white out! S'funny tho'. It was fine when I posted it and when I came back to it all I got was the red x as well. So edited and reinserted the picture properties as per usual and back thge picture came again. Any idea what the problem may be? I'll monitor it and see whether...

Photo hosting - Sony Image Station to close!

testing picasa Seems to work OK. However, by trial and error I've worked out that you must reduce the pic to a max of 800 x 600 pixels before uploading to Picasa as other wise the image doesn't appear in the thread. Instead you get this - In case you are wondering, the image is of...

    Side table rip-off!!

A bit like lying down with your head in the freezer and feet in the oven, and saying that, on average, you are comfortable!

Ryobi cordless drill - good deal?

J - This is the package I bought - same as the link Steve put in his post above. It doesn't say one+ on the packaging and as Steve says, the NiCads are 1.5ah - but that's fine for the use I intend to give it - quantum leap on what I had before.

Photo hosting - Sony Image Station to close!

All the photos I have on various threads are hosted by Sony Imagestation. Just read that this is to close from 1st Feb 2008, and that no new photos may be uploaded from 12th November. Presumably after 1st Feb all my photos in various threads will disappear. thought I'd mention it just in case...

Ryobi cordless drill - good deal?

Received an 18v Ryobi cordless drill and driver yesterday. Given that I've been using a 20yr old Black and Decker which is either on or off, the controllability of both these is a revelation. Very soft start for pilot holes and driving screws, and excellent control of clutch etc. These 2...

how much do i need a sliding table

I had a sliding table for the first time when I bought my Scheppach 2010 just over a year ago. It has been a revelation and i really don't know how I managed without it. The micro adjustment is terrific when it comes to cutting repeatable lengths, and also for cutting tenons. But then I don't...

    joint advice for bench

Tom - why not use worktop connectors like this? I've just replaced one of the curved plates that sit in the recess with a large washer. Simple, strong, cheap and easy to dismantle or alter at a later stage if it needs to be. Simple stub tenon that is there to stop twisting as much as...

So is this worth the travelling? I've only ever been to the Ally Pally show. SWMBO is away next w/e and I'm off the leash!

    Advice on taking Photo's

I agree with the majority of the advice you have been given. Everyone needs a tripod for those "timer" family gathering shots, so why not choose a subject and try lots of different settings on the same subject. Play around with exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc, as well as average...

Ryobi cordless drill - good deal?

Thanks Steve. I've ordered the pack which includes the Impact Driver as I reckon that'll get more use, for the same price from toolsave - £99.90 inc postage. Many thanks for the link. I have a Ryobi electric chainsaw which I've always been pleased with so looks like a good middlemarket...

Ryobi cordless drill - good deal?

I've been meaning to buy a cordless drill for some time and thought that the Ryobi 18v range looked like reasonable value. They do a starter pack of drill, 1hr charger and 2 batteries for about £120 although you can get it for around £101 by shopping around. In B&Q Plymouth today and they are...

    red arrows at paignton

Not uncommon. In my youth I used to compete in hang gliding at national level. On one occasion I was with a group of about 17 other hang gliders flying at about 1500 ft above a ridge near Newtown in the Welsh borders when the entire RAs in V formation flew beneath us. For all practical purposes...

    red arrows at paignton

Back in about 1975 when I was at Cranwell there was an annual family's day and the Red Arrows used to do a display over the playing fields. Being a private display for RAF families, and before the H&S guys got the upper hand, they used to be pretty impressive! In the 2nd picture you will see...

    Long distance footpaths

Alan - you've got it all wrong. That IS reality. It's the rest of life that is at fault! :) Can thoroughly recommend the Dales Way. It's a great way to spend a week.
