well they burn wood, so wood related......?

And who hear knows what an egg cup is? As a young tike in germany, I remember my aunt going to the market before breakfast. There was the tiny baker who had that mornings bread and rolls ready to go. Then we went next door. A shop slapped together with corrugated sheet metal. There were...

well they burn wood, so wood related......?

OMG You guys in England! Well almost. I could really move to a small village like the one Dave Charlsworth lived in. We used to joke that a decent loaf of bread is soft inside but hard enough outside to assault someone with a a loaf. There are dozens of receipes from the old world. Done by...

    David Charlesworth

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. He was one of those who taught many. His loss will be felt world wide. From the the states.

    Hollow and Round sole forming

Simply put, I learned the hard way from the best. I met Clarke and Williams at a show decades ago and bought some floats from him. Later he released a video thru Lie Nielsen. It’s still available thru Lie Nielsen’s streaming service. It covers everything. He covers the concept of mother planes...

    Twisted

What a wonderful story. You are a very lucky man to have a supportive wife who appreciates you and the wadkin. The spinning gear is quite unique and I too would certainly be interested in seeing drawings. This is the type of project that would be nice on just display even if it’s never used...

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

It’s nice to have the work to keep it busy but it’s also about the Wadkin itself. I hope to get going on my RU as therapy for a seven month legal fight to keep my home. I have finally got a settlement in works. It cost me a lot including the loss of an RS lathe. So my RU will be my ticket to...

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

This is the second RU I have seen restored to this level. Absolutely the most beautiful “wood” lathe I have come across. Wallace you have done a wonderful job here. And you have been a great help. In my fight to rid myself of the bimbo pest I got into a fight with her camp. She wants my...

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

OMG what a glorious day! The bimbo trying to take my home just lost her stay in court. I got my hearing granted. Now she has to answer up to the forged documents. A good day for me. Now to undue the second protection hearing. Then Wallace posts on his RU. One of the coolest wadkins ever. I love...

FTAGH Spares / repairs - record 52.5 vice

If the vice is available I would put my hat in the ring. Under no circumstances should you scrap it. The missing parts are not an issue but rather a video on YouTube replacement parts. How do we talk?

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

Crazy! MIT designed the moon landing computer and Raytheon built it from discrete 74 series TTL chips. Damn thing spit out overload errors in middle of moon landing. Had to switch off long range radar to get a bit more poop in the pants to complete landing. But Armstrong was one of the best...

Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

I date to the HP41CV. Best damn eng calculator ever! My buddy who has past used slide rules. He was a surveyor on the 14 mile Adams Tunnel under the continental divide of the Rockies. They had two bores: one on each side of the divide. When the bores met, he was off by less than 3/4 of an inch!

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

I am curious where that part goes on the RU. I love his technique with Silicone bronze. I pretty sure that’s what I will do with my RU repair.

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

Sorry Wallace A bit off topic. You can post some fluff when I dig into my RU. It’s all in good fun and we’re an international group helping us out. The Bullard photo posted looks just like mine but mine has more lovely rust.

    Wadkin RU lathe restoration

I ran across an old narrow gage loco parked next to an old shop in Boulder. You would have missed it cuz all the trees and bushes had it over grown. When the machinist died, all went to scrap. At the narrow gage yard in Durango they use Bullard vertical spindle lathes to repair wheels. Big ones!

Bills dog comes yelping in from his garage. That’s when bill and his wife got the wonderful aroma of shunk! bills wife tells bill to deal with the schunk. He grabs his AR15 rifle with a bump stock. bill pulls the trigger in the garage. Before you could say Shazam he had fired five rounds into...

    Bl**dy Mice

So I tried to explain to my bimbo grirlfriend that I didn’t take her ear rings. I did tell her that they look like fishing lures for a catfish but I didn’t take them! I told her that we have a pack rat. She said the only pack rat is the one in front of me. That pack rats don’t exist. two...

    Bl**dy Mice

Yah but cats love mice😆 I inherited a an old Webley air pistol from my dad. Looks like a 45 auto and weighs a bunch. Made in England. Befote my BIMBO girlfriend moved in I would eat dinner watching the television and pop the mice with the air gun. In the morning I would pick up Half a dozen...

Ahhh Yes. bloody Nutras! Rats big enough to make a family meal! They believe much damage in New Orleana during Katrina was due to levies breaking that were weakened by nutra tunnels

    Dodged a bullet———almost

I was running some quarter saw white oak over a 24 in Oliver jointer a few years back. when you hear the jointer dig in to the lead you know! Flipped the board over and there was the left overs of a civil war mini ball. to me it looked like a deformed mass of lead. About the size of a golf...
