    3MPPS system

After several days of spraying and the inevitable cleaning I thought about looking at the 3M PPS system but what a shock nearly £250 for the consumables the liners when you then put the cup, lid and adapter for the gun you are looking at £500. I think I will give it a miss.

    Bosch router woes

In fact I have a GOF 1600 CE bought in the UK my doubt is that the 1/2" collet will fit the European version. One would think so but as I tried to explain with the smaller 600 palm router the 1/4" collet designed for the UK version will not fit the European version as the armature / shaft is...

    Bosch router woes

I have a Bosch GOF 1600 which just stopped working in the router table so I took it out and put it into its plunge base and it still wouldn't work. Thinking it might be brushes or dust I took it apart reset the brushes and put it back together again and yes it works but the speed adjustment has...

anyone got 13 grand for a turntable?

Out of interest I looked at what people will pay for a Garrad 301 or 401 I was staggered. I have had a Transcriptors reference turntable for years which as well as being aesthetically pleasing functions very well indeed paired with an Ittok arm and Karma cartridge.

    Making a 70° or 130° degree cut

Maybe I didn't explain very well. Consider a standard board it has an edge that is at 90° to the face I wish to make a cut at 70° ie a bevel.

    Making a 70° or 130° degree cut

I need to put a 70° cut on the edge of a 1.7M long 30mm Birch ply and as my table saw is limited to 50° I am struggling to think how to do it safely. It does need to be a uniform and flat edge and I am not relishing the idea of trying to do it with a plane. Any suggestions.

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

I agonised over buying the 500 or the 700 as my immediate use called for 6mm dominos or tenons but I knew that shortly after I would want to use 8mm ones. In looking at the endless you tube videos I came across the Seneca adapter but thought it expensive for what it was plus time and importation...

    Cabinet door sizing

Nope designed to fit the number of books rather than anything else. Plus a small plinth and a 30mm top will bring it up to 900mm. Just seen my mistake 850mm:ROFLMAO:

    Cabinet door sizing

I have to build a run of 3 cabinets each with 2 doors and book shelving above. The cabinets are 1000mm wide by 85mm high with two doors simple shaker style, single panel so what would be good aesthetically pleasing dimensions for the stiles and rails?

    Airless paint sprayers

Just a comment on the finish of the Fuji. With a lacquer on well prepared birch ply cabinet interiors the finish was glass like with 3 coats, the outside end panels and doors using a matt finish was smooth flat and matt again with 3 coats and easier at least for me to get that finish than with a...

    Airless paint sprayers

A viscosity cup would be easy to make or you could buy one from Axminster but you would have to then calibrate it to your sprayer. The Fuji system gives you target times for each size of nozzle and suggestions as to thinning requirements for different paints and lacquers. So you mix up a small...

    Airless paint sprayers

I bought the largest cap available and recommended by Fuji, they give you a viscosity cup ( a plastic funnel with a hole in it) you time a fixed volume of paint to run out and thin accordingly. Getting the viscosity right is important for a good finish.
