Do it all (most) track saw (Mafell?)

Thanks Nelsun. Would I be correct in saying that blade availability (variety) would be the decisive factor and perhaps this might be more or less of an issue with Mafell? Thanks

Do it all (most) track saw (Mafell?)

Ah Steve, great to hear from you. I am pretty sure I bought your DVD many years ago (unfortunately long since gone with moving houses and departure of my cheap tablesaw, although I am looking at a Lidl one for rough jobs and the Mafell circular/plunge/track saw for precision).

Do it all (most) track saw (Mafell?)

so if I understand correctly, the main difference between the two types (whether Festool or Mafell) is the ability to plunge? If I am correct then I don't think I need the ability to plunge as I have a router to do that, and I will rarely need to do cutouts on a scale of sink cutout on a kitchen...

Do it all (most) track saw (Mafell?)

Hi all Looking for advice on a track saw. Back into doing some woodwork again after a hiatus with getting married and becoming a father! I never invested much in the equipment and have long since sold it. So back to it again and will start to shelve my shed, make a workbench etc. My first...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

"Attack"? With respect Peter, I wouldn't call it an attack. Can somebody not voice their opinion on customer service with any particular retailer anymore? To add - I would never write anything about my dealings with a retailer that wasn't factual. If the retailer was really worried about...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

True, shimming it is underneath on one side is possible, but it won't move across the table as easy as it should. I expect that when something is purchased brand new that it should need no adjusting (apart from adjusting that is provisioned for in the design of the machinery)...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

Hi Geoff, I did call Bosch UK and the person who deals with my type of query was on lunch. I left them my number so they could call me back however I haven't heard back. I must call them again tomorrow to remind them. In any case, I do not think this is adjustable. There is nothing in the...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

Why was the retailer's name removed? I honestly do not understand why they should be protected like this. If it is seen as "unfair" to be only hearing one side of the story, then why not give the retailer a link to this forum topic and give them the opportunity to respond? Secondly, I have only...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

AES, thanks for your support. I am not sure that the VAT should make a difference, however, I did pay UK vat, and I am a DIY user. The supplier did know that I was bringing it to the South. I had quite a long, friendly chat with a few members of staff, so they got to know where I was going...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

Steve, Phil, There doesn't seem to be an adjustment for it. See photo. Also, below thread indicates that this problem isn't isolated to myself.. http://www.bosch-pt.co.uk/professional/ ... blems.html I suppose if I shim underneath with some tape as was already suggested, then it would...

Bad Purchasing Experience -Bosch GTS10 Table Saw

Hi guys, Just thought I would let you know of my experience with a tool shop Northern Ireland. While on a once off visit to Northern Ireland recently ( I am from Southern Ireland), I decided to pop into a supplier near Belfast and ended up buying a Bosch GTS 10 table saw. When assembling it...

Fence not square on my table saw (Bosch GTS10)

thanks guys, i've had to add layer upon layer of tape underneath the fence in order to correct it. Now the fence doesn't move correctly! Just sent an email off to the supplier requesting return..

Fence not square on my table saw (Bosch GTS10)

Thanks Andy - yes, running across the table, the fence is not 90 degrees vertically with reference to the table. Will try shim it. Is this normal with these "site saws"? Or is this normal for most table saws?
