I want one of these machines....

The thing I find most depressing about robotic takeover of artisan manual labour is the poor thing can't go out for a pint at the end of the day.

Help Needed: Bed for Special Needs 16yo

What's your timeline? I am in the process of having a (some would say 'crate-like') 'daybed' made by Bespoke Kitchens and Furniture - Wood & Wire - Halifax - Yorkshire - UK from CNC cut 'layered' 18mm ply. The whole process has taken a long time thanks to the lockup, but I hope to have (what I...

wow! that's a very interesting opinion.

    Your opinion about logos.

very very funny! thank you for that. fyi it's not lapsed (yet :), it is significantly 'distinct' to extend 'tentness'. :sneaky:

    Your opinion about logos.

FYI 'patents' cost (potentially) thousands and thousands of dosh. Also FYI I've successfully 'design copyrighted' a TENT.

    Retirement options

@artie having only just noticed your (custom) "Career Title", I think you should be satisfied you have sufficient humour to take on the world.

    Your opinion about logos.

All true. One could (may be able to), however, 'design copyright' (the design) and 'trademark' (the name) if one wants to get so involved. There are hundreds of 'scribers' already out there yet this one is 'different' enough (for those who can't (be bothered to) make their own) and desirable...

    Your opinion about logos.

They I'm reductionist. Therefore, thescriber.co.uk. however, that doesn't stop you from buying multiple domain names (as they're comparatively cheap) which point to one domain. I understand the 'space' between the and scriber but imho it's not going to make sales/ a difference. this is all my...

how many 'faces' does the scriber have available? remember it's "thescriber.co.uk" as 'scriber.co.uk' is not available (though may become available in june if whomever doesn't renew it) I, personally, would use both sides. Scriber on one; thescriber.co.uk on t'other. imho as ever.
  13. pils

    Your opinion about logos.

It should be referred to as "the 'scriber'". the logo is just "scriber". "the 'scriber'" can be seen as a product/company under tooley-park as means of cross-selling. How one does that is entirely up to you. you should ALWAYS go for the shortest possible URL. THEN, assuming you've got a few...

    Your opinion about logos.

Hello Phillip please feel free to completely ignore this but thought (as this is what I supposedly do) I'd 'knock something up'. FYI these are sketches/thoughts: thescriber.co.uk is available. In front of witnesses: completely free if you want it and I can send you jpg/png/eps and leave you to...

    Your opinion about logos.

There are different types of 'brand'. This (not 'yours' sorry) falls into the category of 'gorgeous product' so imho that 'gorgeousness' should be continued into the care taken to create packaging and 'conversation' with the 'client'. Brand, again in this case, follows or is created by this. A...

    Your opinion about logos.

Been in branding/design for thirty years and it doesn't matter. IF you WANT to put a logo on the scribe then all the previous answers are correct in advising etching etc. OR put it in a gorgeous cardboard/wood box with a printed/fired logo. With gorgeously designed instructions or message that...

New Workshop Build - I don't know where to start

This is our garden and the red (extremely approximate kinda guessed) line is where the previous/previous owner (who's father built all the local houses) had his (I believe) British N gauge rail track.

Cans or Bottles, Can you tell the difference?

Glass is 'more' inert than other used materials and least likely to absorb anything contained within it. Plus, the polymer used to line cans may (on a teeny-weeny level) absorb soluble flavour from the liquid.

    internal height with pent roof

this would be my take on the situation: meaning one has 236mm in which to create a ceiling/roof/pent angle with 2122/1900 internal height. ALL approximate!!!
