    Anyone any good at maths?

Folks I’m building a cupboard to go against the slopes ceiling in my chalet bungalow. 18mm material. I have settled on some dimensions but can’t work out the knock on sizes. Drawing is a cross section from front to back. Angles are 45 degrees. Can anyone tell me what the distances are A-D...

Bob I feel your pain. I had to make the same decision 2 years ago to the lad in my profile pic. Its painful for a long time. I just try and remember the good times we had. Best wishes Mark

    Laminate kitchen worktop

I need to buy a laminate kitchen worktop for a semi temporary/medium term solution . I'm after the chipboard type with plastic laminate on the top and front edge. Needs to be at least 3.6 m long. I would like 650mm wide if that exists but if not 600 will do. Looking for an oak effect. What...

    Oak bedroom

Bob Looks like a really superb job. As an avid amateur who would like to build his own (simpler) built in wardrobe can I ask how thick the backs are to your carcasses and also the front to back depth of them. Many thanks Mark

    Probox custom drawers

Hi all Does any one have any experience of using Probox to make solid wood dovetail drawers? Wondering what the service and quality are like. Also any other similar company, Drawer Solutions Ltd seem to be no longer trading and I'm not aware of any other similar companies. Cheers Mark

What glue to fix my router?

So I rang trend. The guy in technical said he had fixed this before with contact adhesive. I had discounted this and epoxy both for being too thick and was previously thinking of something like superglue. I have some contact adhesive already (so no you're not the only one Mike), my other...

    Woodworm in the log pile?

Just been to restack a couple of log piles that blew over last week. In one I’ve found a few pieces that look like they’re getting eaten by something. At first I thought something was nawing on the bark but there are also some small holes. I have got it on about 10 logs as far as I can see...

Fixing tongue and groove sheets to wall

My next question is then how much gripfill/alternative. I'm thinking a horizontal line every 4 to 6 inches, then a few pins driven in until it goes off. Does that sound about right? Mark

Fixing tongue and groove sheets to wall

Yes these are not full height they go to dado height. There's no pipe runs to box out and hide so straight on the wall it is then. Which is good to know is ok as this is quite a small WC so not losing any width is good. Many thanks. Mark

Fixing tongue and groove sheets to wall

I'm talking this stuff to simulate tongue and groove boards http://www.championtimber.com/sheet-mat ... fsc-mix-70 All the major supplier near me seem to only stock 9mm, so I guess thats what I'll use. It helps anyway as its going in quite a small wc. My question is how best to fix to the...

Oil oak before decorator is in, or after?

I agree with the others who say to leave them bare. Ihave a green oak extension on my house and definitely wont be oiling them. I just accept it looks different to other bits of oak in my house like the doors and window boards which need protection . I have found green frog (which is for bare...
