Hi
Anyone got a good and easy method to age brass screw heads? I tried a method I found online that involves putting them in a small airtight pot with vinegar and salt but didn't work which suggests they are lacquered?
Any easy ideas, I only need 3 screws doing
Cheers

I did avoid most companies that would be at a show. And am very happy with the one I didn’t avoid But it’s also great way of seeing 20 companies products in a morning. I have in fact chosen a one man band working out of his garage for my new staircase

Fairly recently I bought new windows for my house (don’t have the time or machinery to make 17 windows). I went to several trade and renovation shows and looked at dozens of examples made. I was amazed by how many were supposed to be premium products and were truly awful. One of the most...
No idea about the Swan brand but the Bambi silent compressors they used to sell are very quiet. I think they used to describe those as no louder than a fridge freezer which is a fair description. Certainly gonna be quieter than their TV. I only use it for the nailer and to blow the dust...
Someone posted a link to an article describing the usefulness of all the different festool sander on here recently but already I can't find it again. Can anyone point me in the right direction and it may also help the OP

Sorry dude but thats completely the opposite to the experience I've had. I've even painted it on tanalised timber that wasn't really dry. Did you water the first coat down? Used it on 2 buildings with tanalised featheredge, also on the doors etc. Don't live there any more but was up for 7...

2x1m concrete plinth makes me think this sculpture is pretty big. What is it, how big is it, how heavy is it. Post a picture, there may be solutions that don't require a big base but its hard to understand without seeing what you want to put on it

They won't accept a template. Theres no measuring involved on their part, they "just" enter the measurement into a Holzma.
In other circumstances I can see the benefit of a template, or as I acknowledged earlier to Steve M, a rod.

Ok. So I’ll go with 196 being correct. Forget the 178
Do we have a consensus with (the not so) thick mike then ?
Cheers all. I knew it was complicated

Steve I understand the benefits of a rod. But I’m not cutting this. There are 2 of these to make. The panels are being done on a professional panel saw I’m told is 0.1mm accurate. So I have to give them measurements
Inspector Pete. I don’t want to sound dismissive when I’ve asked for help...

Already drawn full size on paper but can’t be sure of the accuracy of my angles and therefore measurements. I’m not cutting the sheets hence I need an accurate number to give
Lurker it’s not intended to follow the contours or the building.
